Hey @caffeinatedbrushes, thanks for the kind words They are all digital, happy to see I was successful in making it look traditional. I have been working on improving my linework recently, as I’m trying to shift to a more simplified manga style, will share results soon Here is something traditional that i see I haven’t posted on here, my 1st and only, for the time being, oil painting:
Here is a re-do of some characters i sketched up a few years ago, designes inspired by my country’s folklore. I hope to make this a fun little project to work on, the figures are very rough sketches, i hope to get around to fixing the poses soon, for now the goal was to think about the costumes and faces/expressions of the characters. Hope it’s obvious which ones are the old ones 😅

My stylus stopped working, so while it’s getting fixed i did some traditional figure practice using the method @brohawx so kindly explained, and it makes things so much faster and easier! This is far from perfect, but i was trying to keep things simple and not spend too much time on this, as i tend to get hung up on details a lot

Ok, got my pencil replaced, so I was able to work some more on this. As I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with her, I decided to do an exercise in anatomy and geometry and draw the skull properly, then the head, and the hair only on top of that. I am pretty happy with how it is turning out, but any critique/advice on how to make it better are most welcome It’s still not finished, but almost there now ..

On that last one; Really made some progress there separating the light and dark shapes of the values, then changing the forms within them. You're finding the subtlety. Keep it up.
