These are really fantastic! You have done a great job, Marc recommended to me recently on feedback to do 2 minute gestures of heads constructions. I feel like this is helping me a lot right now. I was doing longer constructions and I can brute force things to the right position over time, trial and error. but these two minute gestures help me understand the form more. You might try to do quantity over quality and see if that helps, it has been working for me.

[Term 2]
10 x 2 minute head gestures from this morning. It was an interesting change of pace compared to the longer portrait studies I've been doing, and it definitely made me work a lot more productively than I'd been doing previously with my studies.

I wanted to make a promotional image for starting a Kofi, so I started work on another illustration! It quickly got out of hand though

Lineart took 10 years but coloring a single day! I'm pretty happy with the result though!
I'm a bit embarrassed to say that this was supposed to be kofi promo art but I went overboard, haha.

Batch of head studies. The same issues keep coming up in all of my constructions, I'm not being as diligent in studies as I'd like to be. I've been using them as breaks in between working on my cafe illustration.

[Personal Work]

Entered a “Draw This in Your Style” challenge by my friend rileyquinnart! I’m really happy with the result; I tried some new material rendering techniques that helped me generate a lot of visual interest and also focused a lot on composition and emotion this time.

For my next piece, I’m thinking remastering of one of my older illustrations to see how much I’ve improved. I’ve also started to see many places I can improve on in my art which is giving me more motivation to study art again 🙂 I’ll just keep at it!

Finished my portrait studies sheet! I can still see places to improve but I feel that I'm being limited by my ability to draw the rest of the body in my art, so I'm gonna get to studying more body parts

Finished a new monster of a piece today. Drawing this felt really good, better than most of my other pieces recently, though this could also have something to do with my life also getting more peaceful these days

I fudged most of the anatomy in this drawing, I hope I can get started properly studying again soon...

@hojoflow Thank you so much!! I love linework almost more than painting these days, but I really like both so I'm trying to find a workflow that unifies both nicely

@playforwho89 Thank you so much! The saturated shadows happened almost on accident haha, but I'm definitely going to do this again in a future piece

[Personal Work]

Doing my annual participation in Artfight, a July drawing even where you draw as many characters of other participating artists as you can! I usually like to take my time on pieces, but Artfight always challenges me to make pieces as quickly as possible and care less about the details

I wanted to try a dynamic pose with this dude, surprised it turned out as well as it did!

Can you believe this one only took around four hours??

Finally, I started watching the anatomy lecture, here are my notes so far

Gonna try to keep updating this thread weekly, at least until summer ends!
