Hello everyone, I am so excited to join you on this wonderful journey. I started drawing about three years ago and since then have grown a love for the craft. It is my dream to one day become a professional artist and illustrate epic worlds and awesome characters. I am 33 years old with full-time job, a supportive wife, and 4 adorable children.

This is a drawing I did this past week as my first digital art piece. I hope to redraw it once I have completed this course. Any critiques or feedback would be most helpful. Proper input is what has been lacking from the time I started drawing and good guidance will help propel my art forward.

Welcome! Looking forward to the before and after

Welcome to the program, @mitchellabliss!

Really hope you enjoy it.
It has amazing content to help you with your progress. Looking forward to see the lessons and progress

Welcome, looking forward to seeing what you can accomplish!

This is my first assignment for the "Nude Figure Drawing" class which includes the construction of skeletons and cylinders. I used Clip Studio. Would someone please let me know if this is okay or if I should be using Photoshop instead? I just really prefer Clip Studio. Thanks!

Totally fine to use ClipStudio. Most of the exercises, even tho Marc uses Photoshop, you can easily translate them to other softwares.

Good going on the exercises!
If you don't mind the feedback, I would pay a bit more attention to the cylinders. Really take your time into understanding their direction, and how much you show of their flat surface. Believe me that cylinders are a HUGE part of anatomy and body construction down the line and getting used to them now will save you a lot of time later on.
Don't worry too much about muscle volume at this point. Just get their direction right.

After taking a second look, I can totally see what you are talking about. Feedback is always welcome. I'm here to learn and I can't do that unless I get second opinions and different points of view. Thank you so much for your input!

This is my figure drawing from reference. I can tell I'll be spending a lot of time on this. It took me awhile to get a result I'm comfortable with. Once I overlapped the image, I noticed I was off on a few things. Learning to use the pen as a measuring tool was also a challenge, but I am determined to get better. Drawing from reference was something I never practiced when first teaching myself to draw.

I think you did a really good job on that assignement!
You chose to implement lines that describe the form of the figure really well instead of just copying outlines!
Awesome stuff!

i agree! i think this is well done and thought out. I sometimes have a problem where i tend to copy outlines instead of looking at the form however i see that form has been thought through!

Nice job on the Reference copy! I feel like the pen is infuriating to use if you're working digitally. Knowing how to do it is important but you also have other tools at your disposal. Have you tried overlaying a grid on the reference, recreating a grid and trying to use this method for copying the reference? When I've done this in the past I ususally make the grid 1 head (of the model in said picture) high x 1 head wide. Whether you use it or not, keep up the great work!

Hi everyone!
This week I've been working on some concept designs for an illustrated audio book I'd like to post on my website and YouTube. This is the main character named Ratcatcher. I'd love to get your feedback. I might also post this for Marc's Saturday review to see what advice he can give me. Thank you all so much and stay awesome! :v:

Hey guys!
I just shared this image with Marc for the review today. He instructed me to pay more attention to the focal point of my characters and to look up reference for the folds that occur in clothing. Any other input is absolutely welcome. :+1:

Writing a short story called The Ratcatcher. This is my work in progress for the first illustration for the book.
