That's not a bad painting! I think that you should not make your edges that smooth. Try to harden them. ( I really think that we start somewhere. we can't be the best in just no time, But if we put a lot of times and efforts we will be rewarded). So keep at it!! 
Try also to study value and color more. Begin your painting in value (black and white), then add color to it.
