New to painting. can anyone tell me if im heading in the right direction?

I just started playing with colors like 2 days ago. Painting is one of things i'm really not confident in doing so just wondering if anyone can tell me what I need to work on based on the wip I have provided. I would really appreciate the help. Thanks in advance!

That's not a bad painting! I think that you should not make your edges that smooth. Try to harden them. ( I really think that we start somewhere. we can't be the best in just no time, But if we put a lot of times and efforts we will be rewarded). So keep at it!!

Try also to study value and color more. Begin your painting in value (black and white), then add color to it.
