Here are some shading exercises i finished today (took me way too long ). I would really appreciate some critique. So many shapes and shadows feel out of place/wrong, but I tried them often and this is the best I can get. I just don't know how to get them right :frowning:. Thanks you all!

Haha Thanks! really glad you like it

The first cubes in perspective I did. Apart from my non-straight lines, I think it turned out alright. Using the krita vanishing points feature made it really simple.

Thanks. Funny enough that you said that. I actually have a unfinished sketch for a spaceship somewhere because when I first did this exercise (before joining the artschool program) I too got these space vibes and wanted to draw them so badly
I'll try and work on it so I can atleast share a finished sketch ^^.

In the meantime, here is my first exercise of the human proportions.

Idk what happened to those faces . Looks like she has a garbage can somewhere in her ancestry line. And his head got artificially inflated (during the upload, i swear ). Anyway, looking forward to improve!

I thought I'd share some more gesture drawings with you. I feel like my volume and proportions are improving. Also I noticed I started thinking in shapes, idk if thats good or not though

And here we have todays "cubes" in perspective. I did a sheet of normal cubes in 2-point-perspectives yesterday and today i got kinda tired of only drawing cubes so I switched things up a bit by drawing cubes first and then adding/substracting some forms to make them more interesting (while trying my best to keep them in perspective). Take a guess what each form represents as i have no clue . Was fun though!

Really creative work with the shapes, How fun! :grinning:

Some shapes in 2-point-perspective. Instead of just drawing some random cubes I decided to construct a little scene instead. I'll call it finished now because I don't think it will ever truly be finished .

Omg I really love this!!! Can you share the one with the guidelines? I'm interested to see how it came to be
