Just a little update! Thought I'd start posting some of my more recent works.

Here's a little portrait I did around September. I was trying a new workflow with a mix of the mixer brush and my usual painting techniques. I've been playing around with the mixer brush throughout this year and I think it's quite handy to add some painterly touches/soft blending in places. Recently I've also been painting more and more on a single layer and this painting was mostly done like that. I did enjoy painting this a lot tho!

I also made a mini process thinger for this:

Been painting a lot traditionally this year, so will post some of that next time.

As promised here's some trad stuff:

Having a lot of fun with nibs and ink these days. I was doing inktober but only got around to doing like 15 days then I got sick I'll post them here bit by bit tho..seeing as there's a limitation XD

Some cosmos flowers that I painted last week based on a promt at pixiv sketch. I enjoyed painting this a lot, so then I painted some more afterwards Will post em next taim!

Well, it's going fine for me too. I don't really have anything interesting going on, but yeah... life's good

And I remember seeing that piece on DeviantArt. The colors and lighting are just so good! I'm just wondering, what did you do on step nine? Did you simply tweaked the colors with adjustment layers or is there something more?

@stealcase Sorry about such a late reply, I was away for a while sorting out irl stuff haha. But back again! And thank you for that, it's nice to hear. Um yeah you're right indeed I do have the watercolour set. But you can buy those separately too hehe.

@catapanoart Thank you so much! I'm glad you think so! Yeah that was lame, I'm sorry you had to go through a similar situation with inktober once. I'd like to do it properly this year.

@cedricgo Aww good to hear that man! And thank you so much! That painting is one of my favourites from 2016..but yeah about step 9 it's not just adjustment layers, I also used some gradients on normal mode to add lighter colour accents...just messed with the layer opacities in their cases.

Happy New Year everyone!! I kinda decided to remain inactive for a while because irl stuff was too hectic..buuut I just quit my dayjob last week and those things are finally sorted out..so I have more free time to paint more studies and personal stuff, so I'll be more active again.

Here's my crappy first painting of the year:

Wanted to push myself a little and paint something finished looking with watercolours...and tackle some stuff I'm not comfortable drawing [but do like!!] = birds and foliage

And here's my Christmas painting:
