I like the sketches. The last one, I like the most of the barbarian. For Fenn, I like the idea of him having a fox shape. For names, you can get names based on other languages. For example, Frieren. Her name in German means to freeze, to feel cold, to be freezing. I like the name so far.

The lower one is also the one I like the most for Ayris buy I think I will use more designs

For example, it can get confusing if a character was named Arthas and another one Arthar.

I want to see Arthas evil twin Arthar

I try to keep names simple but still make them sound different than usual ones. It's fantasy after all. I use other languages and tweak it a bit so it is not that obvious. Also keeping them different from each other.

idea of Fenn being fox came later. I took it from vampire guy from teso Fennorian. Later I remembered that fennecs are foxes and it all fit.

Interesting concept for Fenn with the glow elements. I can see that evolving into much more, like extended limbs, taking the form of different fox type legends (nine tails? xD) or so on.

Why I see him turning into some eldritch horror? Idea of nine tails sounds interesting. If I do things right I want to make him something more later.

And started working on a new painting. She appeared to me in a dream. I want to achieve a dreamy, soft misty feeling. And I have a background that is something more than splashes of paint.

It turns out to be something else that I had in mind. Not that it is a bad thing. Added some warmer orange tones to have a variation with greens.
I should do something with lacking emotion faces. This one is meant to be more neutral but that's what I always do. Next time will do something with stronger emotion

I am not happy with rendering on armor and I merged layers too soon. I am quite satisfied with background, distant mountains look weird but I love that tree.

It is not close to what I initialy had in mind so I might do another one

I like it overall, but I can't help but feel she merges a bit too much with the background. Like there's not enough of a silhouette. Not necessarily lineart, but maybe saturating her colors a bit, or increasing her luminosity?

Love all the little details. Judging from the armor, it looks like it's intended to have a translucent vibe to it.

I played a bit with tone curves and saturation. Desaturated background, slightly made shadows on her deeper to have more contrast. At first it doesn't seem like I changed much but I think she doesn't blend that much. I think tree was also catching a lot of attention

The story somehow expands itself. I had thing A happen leading to event B and the big thing slowing down and finish. Now it grows. If I want one thing to impact the reader more I need to expand it instead of just showing that it happened. It will also give more insight why it affects some characters in a certain way.

That old man is Bayaz. I wanted to have a Bajarz which means storyteller it can be as well his name. He is that old frail looking wise man who is powerful. He will approach you tell you some weird stuff and leave.

Yo! I think it's an improvement! Very noticeable around the hair and some of the armor pieces, but overall very subtle!

It's a really great piece! and the BG is very atmospheric!

Haha, ain't that the truth! It happens a lot. It's a very fine balance about expanding the story and lore so it all makes sense while at the same time keeping it focused on the main theme and characters so the reader doesn't get lost and the scope doesn't increase beyond our resources.

There are a few videos out there about story telling and mistakes we do as rookies. With some I agree, with others I'll just take them as pointers, but overall it still helps a lot to watch and listen.

This is one of the recent ones I watched. Still watching more from this guy, what I've seen so far seems to make sense.

Overall, I love talking about this stuff. If at some point you want to dive deeper, I'm all ears.

It is very lotr inspired. I just rewatched it and have more ideas
It takes place in elven forest with old ruins and stuff like that. I want to have Rivendell inspired place

It is exciting and addicting(in a good way) to work on it. Will talk more about characters as I work on them

Some studiess tree is from Peter Mohrbacher the rest from Elden Ring. I wanted to keep them around an hour but I was losing focus after 30 minutes... I got the general idea and colors so it is fine and it allowed me to do more
It is interesting how most of tree is desaturated in most parts and still looks so colorful

I really need to learn blender so I can make such environments with huge castles and stuff like that

And a sketch from Fowkes course that I have no strenght to clean up. It's been lying there for like 2weeks. I didn't want to just copy what he did and it stayed this way... I should go back to it
