Sounds like things are starting to take form. The tain seems like an interesting lore/story device. Like a malevolent infection. Where did it come from? Can it be reverted? Can it be weaponized?

That Cal pic is great! He seems to be quite dummy thicc. Joking aside his eyes show so much emotion, hurting, determination, anger, frustration. That's very cool.

Taint is very important part of story. It being weaponized too. There is also a 'good' version of it that is more like life energy. One gives the other takes. Both powers come from twin gods. Sister a lesser goddess of nature, she wasn't important but she was recognised by more important gods. She wanted to help and protect her own followers and she got a chance to be patron of forest elves. Her brother was deformed at birth, looked like a monster with parts of different animals. Gods wouldn't look at him and if they did they mocked him. He reached the breaking point. sister wouldn't help him for fear gods would take everything from her. He broke, unleashed his power and taint happened. Yes she regrets it and wishes she would go back in time to be there when he needed her the most

Just general idea of it

Haru

He is one of my favourites but i struggle the most with him. I keep changing everything. I think I am going into right direction because I have this 'it's him!' feeling when I see him.

He was inspired by Zack Fair from FF7. So he started as more extroverted muscular guy, good fighter etc. But it was clashing with other characters. I have so many strong personalities around him so I had tochange him. It works much better this way

Shy innocent cutie. Closed in himself. He wants to help everyone often neglecting his own needs. He keeps blaming himself for putting Fenn in danger and since then he is even more laid back. Fennec is like younger brother to him

Haru is part moon elf part yokai/fey. He was wolf based but I think fox suits him better. And wolf will work better for Fenn. For being mixed race he is outcast to moon elves , they hate 'impure' stuff. Fey prefer to stay hidden so Haru was alone for most of the time

Haru and Fenn together. Didn't have idea for Haru then. Will have to change Fenn a bit so he fits wolf. I've shown this but just so you know who I am talking about

I wanted to make something charcoal inspired for fun. I will try to play more with this style
I struggled so much with his features but I like it

Since I did digital charcoal lets do traditional as well. I hated charcoal with a passion. Really. I didn't use it since I quit one art course. So like 2 years. I just had the urge to draw with it and I think it came out really nice. It feels so good that I can finally draw nicely on paper as well

You personal project seems to be getting some traction. It's more developed each time, would love to see a compilation once you start putting things together.

I really like the Clive and Jill pieces, great shading and form. Just started playing FF16, haven't gotten very far because of bandwith, but I already love it. What I love about Claive and Jill so far (very early) is that even though they are interesting on their own, it's even more interesting when I see them interacting. Playing on story mode to at least make some progress.

First idea was that his mother left to capital with him but I like torturing my characters. Abandonment trauma would work for Layne nicely. I thought about elves not being able to leave the forest because of their post-Blight law but I don't like it. So maybe his mother hid that she was tainted too. She wouldn't be able to protect him so she send him to a place without tainted creatures. Maybe she was with him on the way to kingdom but started changing and she disappeared one night

That sounds interesting on the back story.
Cal does look pretty good, as well as Haru.
You're doing pretty well on your project. I like to see how it's developed.

I like your charcoal drawings. It looks difficult, but the results look fantastic.

I could drop more lore but I think it would be better when shown with designs. But with the way I do things I will be working on designs while drawing comic. I can't see some things till I work on them

I was certain I have still a month till October... so I thought I would do some simple sketches instead. But I can't commit to simple things. So ye planned illustrations? Nah, we are doing prompts. I am not going to fight with my creative high

Tried something different. Again. I want to focus more on anatomy. Use more refs, observe other artists etc. Ignore the left arm, I just kept it from ref and didn't do anything with it... Probably messed up heel but hopefully it is not that visible.

His name is Casimir. One of more important characters. I've always struggled with his appearance. He needs that certain vibe

Aristocrat. Wizard, a very snobby one. Thinks highly of himself and other people are just a bunch of idiots. Manipulates people for his own amusement.

Ahh I really like how it came out. I want to do more of thesee ...I may have a problem with wanting to turn everything into a series huh

Plantober - Rose and Drawtober - Vampire
Eve is perfect for this. Rose themed vampire. Her last name is Verrose, i don't think I mentioned it before
Leaving comfort zone with this one. Yoneyama Mai inspired. Im still having secound thoughts about this one... But need to do something harder from time to time to improve, right? I hope I won't mess up the angle and anatomy but I am getting very creative when I need to cover mistakes

I was already called out for lacking courage this week and that it stops me from growth. Well they are right. So I need to work on my mindset. I can and will do it!

Oh no! Hope it gets fixed soon That really sucks. So far it hasn't crashed for me, but as one scene started characters where just doing the T pose and I decided to just close the game. Hopefully it works again once I try once more, but with everything going in October I probably won't get much bandwith to play almost anything.

It's hosted on Cara prompt list they host it on instagram too. There is so many challenges in October its hard to track of them all. And lots of artists have their own prompts

bit of her backstory to make it easier

Verrose family crest is rose. Eve was called white rose by her father. White roses symbolise innocence and purity. She was a good child, well mannered and kind. Then a vampire assaulted her. She lost her innnocence, then turned into vampire. She is a montser and is broken since then. Everyone is overprotective to keep her safe from others and from herself. She is in 'a cage'

Back to sketch. I am trying to put some symbolism there. It will be shown better on a finished piece; I am bad at explaining this kind of stuff with words. I don't think people will try to look so hard into it but its for me

Rose petals are flying away - her old self is gone
Rose veins with torns - chains binding and hurting her

Im having terrible headaches lately and can't focus on anything... why it always happens when I have so many ideas. I am trying to work at slower pace

I also got my first commission! It's for someone I know so I am not really stressed out. Surprisingly I am very calm about it.
I got advice for you. If you think your prices are high then remember that there are payment fees and you will get less money anyway...

And I didn't know that if you don't have required number of transactions paypal is going to take your money hostage for almost a month which is pretty annoying

Update for Eve painting. Its going rough but I don't feel that well so I shouldn't complain. Still trying to figure out colors and light. Waiting for that moment when painting clicks and I know what I am doing

Its coming along very nicely the hard lighting of the second one looks amazing the contrast really makes it stand out. Well if you make enough you also have to worry about taxes at the end of the year too

Paypal has been doing strange things like that in the past few years. There's a guy named Eric D. July who had a campaign for a comic and PayPal held some of the money until he got lawyers involved to get his money.

Your painting looks pretty good so far. If you want to look into the colors, you can use color gradients to help you figure out some color ideas.

But yea, there are always transaction fees. Every service includes it, and it's important to take into account when doing prices. And yea, most services also withhold your mony for about a month before it's released. Realizing it is just part of the business joruney. That's partially why I try to start small with new endeavors, there are always these little quirks you don't take into account until you're in the middle of it, better to learn about it sooner than later. And as magicfanny said, depending on the country and state, if the amount crosses a certain threshold, then you have to include it in taxes and it becomes even more troublesome.

Just part of business though. Very annoying at first, but the eventually it becomes part of the process.

The Eve piece is looking great! Love how highlights look and how it affects the floor lighting!

Finished commission. Didn't go too crazy with this since it was supposed to be 'sketch'

Had a lot of fun working on this one. Im glad I learned how to use gradient maps because it can help a lot. And look at that hand! It looks so nice. I realised I never painted water before but I like it.

I was worried that I would struggle with drawing something 'not mine'. But it was a nice change
