All these works are great! I wish I could make folds as smooth as those. And your faces also look so well proprotioned and has such nice lineart.

I was gona say the guy has some really thick eyebrows, but the reference shows he DOES have really thick eyebrows.

Sup, showing up to bring some more updates on the second week of week 1 lol
Gonna be working this week, so it probably will take a bit until i finish it.

Primitive

I will admit that i slack a bit on the primitive drawings, but oh well.

Clothed Figure

I swear that i must be doing something wrong in these, it takes me 5+ hours to do each one. If they are meant to be done daily that just can't be right... or maybe i'm just to slow... yeeeah, probably that.

I still didn't finish this one (need to render it), but i wanna share the progress.

Since the reference looks skinny, i thought it would be funny to make him all buff, did the muscles from imagination so they are probably off. And yeah, i laughed a bit.

- More primitive drawings,
- Finish the render on figure 6 and do 1 more clothed figure,

- 2 environment studies.

One day i will finish this week.

Procrastination took the better of me lately, so no updates this week, but seeing everyones posts on the forum is really inspiring. Anyway, thanks everyone for the kind words!

Love the head studies - the subtle crosshatching really makes your drawings pop. How do you determine what you should cross-hatch? I ask because I see that you don't only do it for the shadows but for plane changes as well.

Thanks! I'm glad you like them!
As you pointed out, mostly try to use them to show shadow, but when i feel the drawing is to flat i use them to show the form, like the cheek bone for male characters.
On female characters i feel like the more marks you put down on the face the older it looks, so i don't tend to draw the bridge of the nose (save for 3/4 and profile views), but to show that there is a nose there i do the crosshatching, as if it is the reddish tint that some people have on the nose and cheeks.

But overall, the goal is to make the drawing aesthetically pleasing and not overworked. On the portrait #4 i feel like i failed on this goals, as the sheer number of lines just makes a lot of unecessary noise.

Finally finished week 1, only took me about a month lol Here it is.

I tried distancing myself from the round soft brush, i felt like using it makes everything too digital. Only used Marc's cubebrush on those, it was waaay harder, and it looks much rougher then previous ones, but i liked tho.

These were supposed to be lineart only, but is easier to me to just put some basic brush strokes before hand.

And that's about it, hopefully i will be able to do the next weeks on just a week lol But i saw my job's cronogram and i will be working a shit ton the next three weeks, so we will see.

Only Thing I would suggest is to darken the foreground and add some highlights to the upper part of the temple on env 3, I think the extra contrast would really make it pop, maybe even make the foreground smaller for sense of scale
