Here is my illustration focusing on the element of repetition. My 3D model for the fence and wings came in handy to create those shadows.

Thank you @patrycja.lerch @mitsuki-youko!!

So far, I have doing some simple color theory tests with my character for my next drawing, which will focus on movement. I'm trying to be a bit bolder with my colors, but I'm still nervous on how far to take my colors.

I finally finished my composition based on movement. It was tricky getting the right silhouette for her while also trying to convey her in movement. I also messed around with the screen tones and other features on Clip Studio to make the image pop a bit more. I also observed how other comic book artists, like John Byrne, convey movement with a good composition, especially when the panel was big and/or a splash page.

I've also been practicing 3D sculpting on Blender whenever I can. So far, it's forcing me to look at and review faces, so it is nice to get a refresher while I'm trying to get more used to Blender. This face is based on Gomez Addams from the Addams Family live-action films. I like the film's morbid sense of humor, and I really enjoyed the Wednesday Netflix show too. I still got some work to do on the face, especially the hair and ears.

I finally finished sculpting Gomez Addams' bust. I also really enjoy experimenting with the lighting on Blender. I think I'm more determined to get better at sculpting and using Blender.

wow that looks really well sculped. And the lighting really makes it shine.

Nice work on sculpt!

Composition looks great and character is lovely! Flower grabs a lot of attention, color is too strong and its unique element. You could add more and change color so your character pops more. Great work!

Thank you for your comments @daceronine @patrycja.lerch !!
In retrospect, regarding my flower and flying illustration, the flower's color does take too much attention away from my character due to its saturation, so I should be more careful about that.

Here is my composition focused on variety. To be honest, I was at a loss how to add variety since my character has some stripes and circle motifs already. So I try to add in some background elements that hopefully aren't too distracting. I also try to see what kind of effects I can utilize from Clip Studio, making me realize that there's a hundred of other tools that' I've neglected for a long time lol.

cool dynamic pose!
I think something is off with her torso and maybe her left upper member would be shorter looking than her right due to the angle and foreshortening/depth.

cheers!

Thank you! The torso was pretty tricky for me. It still looks kind of weird, whenever my eyes settle in that area. By "left upper member," did you mean the left side of her chest?

No no, I mean her left arm and forearm would be shortened due to the effect of depth, kinda like looking at something close up with a wide angle lens

Oh ok I see what you mean. Thank you for clarifying! And I do agree it could be more shortened due to the effect of the depth that I went for in the illustration.

To start a post for the new year, I wanted to share a face that I created in Blender. Retopology requires so much patience... I also sculpted the body, but I want to do the retopology on that one first before posting on here.

Retopology Part 2. The process is making me go

So I finished the retopology, but when I compared my retopology with other YouTubers and other 3D artists, I find that my retopology is flawed with a lot extraneous edge loops. Furthermore, I learned that the approach to retopology for 3D animation is different. I was interested in 3D art because I was interested in making 3D figurines. But after doing some more digging on retopology and 3D animation, now I'm thinking about doing some 3D animation, which means I might have to redo the retopology to make it optimized for 3D animation.
So I feel like I'm at a crossroads on where to go with 3D art at the moment since I'm more used to creating 2D art, and there are A LOT of tools and features on Blender.

Here is my original sculpt along with my retopologized 3D art.

This looks cool and also complicated XD So retopology is like simplifying the polygons?

cheers
