Yeah I'm on discord. I'm not super active on it – especially recently, but I do check from time to time whenever I remember/get the chance to check.

I finally finished my illustration. I think I took it as far as I can go. It was nice to try out different things with the coloring, rain effects, etc. But I think it's time to move on. I think I need to keep pushing myself in terms of composition.

Also, I'm finally getting back into retopolgy. It's a bit confusing, since I'm referring to the tutorial again, but my model is different from the YouTuber's, eo I have to keep mind how my retopology might be a bit different than his.

Finally finished rigging my 3d model and posed her! It's still very rough, but I hope to work out the kinks as I go further on my Blender journey.

I want to do another illustration, but I need to learn more about applying color and light theory from Term 6. Color and light has never been my strong suit and I always struggle with that in my drawings, especially when I'm trying to figure out the colors after finishing my line art. So I'm starting to do some color studies in preparation for my next illustration.

Here is my first one based on the reference photo from Pinterest.

I made a preliminary drawing for practicing light and color theory. I used the lighting technique from one of the previous color and light theory lessons to create a rough placement of where I want the shadows to be. I'll probably create a rough 3D version of the environment in Blender so I can get a more accurate lighting scenario. I am aware the light should go through the bars of the bridge, but I want to see the overall simplified look of the composition. Also, I think I have to fix my bridge since the last time I checked my perspective on the bridge, some of the converging lines were kind of off at some places.

I feel like I'm juggling too much stuff to learn, and I need to make a schedule for myself. For me, It's easy to get sucked into one skill and neglect the other skills

I changed the perspective of my drawing because I wanted to focus more on the person on the bridge and the shadow. I'm debating whether to exclude the cat or not. Blender helped me with the shadow placements.

Oof I've not been here in a while. I had been working on my silent manga for a contest and finished recently. So I returned to my interior color and light theory exercise. I created a 3d model in Blender and painted over it. I have to say, though, overall, this was comparatively and relatively less stressful than the manga project, which not only involved drawing, but also plotting, characterization, storyboarding, paneling, etc. Still, I'm glad I did it. My first love in art has always been rooted in anime, manga, and comics in general.

I learned how to make and render hair in Blender. I cropped it since everything else is still ongoing development.

Awesome! Are the hair strands sculpted or a texture? Have you checked out the hair particle system yet?

Thanks! The hair strands are made using curves and then I put the texture on. I haven't checked out the hair particle system yet. Frankly, this is the first time I've heard of the hair particle system

I made this, following Blender Guru's Donut Tutorial. I wanted to know more about Blender's features in a more orderly fashion without hopping around videos, not knowing what to learn first. I hope to use it as a tool to help me develop concepts better.
