Hey guys, this is my first post on this site- excited to be part of the community (:
I'm applying to Art Center as a freshman and I'm required to "design a world" (the characters, props, environments...). It's all due by February 1st so I'm under lots of stress! Here are the pieces I've finished/working on so far. I still have a bunch more to go...
If you could please give me any advice or wisdom as to how I should go about creating this portfolio or fixing it thus far..I'd greatly appreciate it!

This design/world takes place in the future, Morocco (North Africa), and in a scenario where meteors devastate the earth and bring "alien bacteria" that mutates organic matter.

Hi !
I might not be so good technicaly but i love creating worlds. Its just a ton of fun  . What i could tell ya about my proccess is I'd start with a theme. Yours is metorites that destroyed earthi and brought bacteria that mutates living beings. Id draw metorites craters and bacteria spraeding . Then few more landscapes to show how earth has changed with diffrent shots from america landscape.then id deaign races that were created in the process. After that id probably design few humans who survivaved with a place where they live. Also dont forget about references. Inspire yourself from other peapole work. Good source of inspiration might be for exaple zergs from starcraft or kabaneri of the iron fortress ( i realy like how mutation is shown here) or warframe/dark sector. I will gladly talk about creation anytime. Hope i helped ya a bit

Good start! One technical advice is to push the contrast and focal areas. Make each character/environment engaging and interesting to look at. One area to look out for is shape language. The WIP character has interesting shapes that your other pieces don't! So, find how these shapes look more interesting than those in your other pieces.
