Thank you @matthewwemes ! Yes that was Sam's video. His way of working is really simple so it was easy to follow. It helped me understand shading a bit more. Definitely check it out!

This time I did some studies for gesture drawings

I traced some figures at first and then tried to use the new techniques in gesture drawing

Also did another quick portrait. These are really fun so I wanna do more

Thank you shaker, I do feel like I am getting better but I still have along way to go!
About todays exercise Marc recommends in his schedule to study other artists work as well. I tried to find something with nice clothes and many folds
The art I found was from bonnie

I only did lineart this time.

Hello everyone! I liked the previous exercise so I did one more.
This time I picked a picture from this artist rits_meg
I thought I should show a bit about my progress. I want to be able to draw those cool mannequins that I see other artists draw but I am not quite there yet.

I try to do a different style with the face because I don't want to draw anime. I want to go a bit of a semi realistic style or at least a bit more western (not sure yet where I will end up).

Hello everyone! I tried to shade the figure I did last time.
I also realised I didn’t show my process last time. also cleaned up the lines a bit.

My shading is still messy. I still have a long way to go in this area. I will keep working on it💪

Hello everyone, continuing with the clothed figure drawings exercise
I tried some new things this time. Like changing the rotation of the shoulders and pelvis a bit to try to make the figure a bit more dynamic. Not sure if it looks better though.
I had to trace parts of the nose because it was giving too much trouble. I still need to make more face studies.
I will clean up the lines and try to shade it.

Nice change it looks more interesting now.
Your folds look good. Maybe jacket would have a bit more wrinkles on her right side as it is more squished.

Hello everyone! I finished painting my latest piece. I tried focusing on doing correct values for this. Not very successful but I think I did better than last time.
I also watched the latest video of Marc’s about folds and also I found an old video of Sam does arts about the same topic.
On Sam’s video I saw that he was shading with a hard brush and blending what edges he wanted later. With that method it’s easier to make The shape of the shadows and also chose what edges will be hard or soft. I was always shading with a soft brush so everything looked a bit muddy.

Hello everyone! Did a smaller exercise for folds.
Tried to shade with a hard brush and smudging the parts I want afterwards.

This turned out a bit messy but I am generally happy with it since you can see the depth. I feel like I am slowly improving 💪

Hello everyone! Thank you all for your kind words 😊
Tried to apply what I learned from my previous exercise to a shirt.
This got some trouble with this. The folds were more complicated than the previous one.

I also tried to do cell shading because of the latest video Marc released but it turned out even worse. I wast sure where to add the Ambient occlusion. Also I was thinking that I should simplify the shadows a bit but I am not sure how.
