Hello all! I kinda finished the sketch that I showed yesterday. I fixed the jaw and and some other details.
Drawing for imagination is very interesting because I can find out what angles I am not as familiar with. So I can practice those.

@Pattu_w Yes some days are tough but I try to draw every day even just a bit. Thanks for the encouragement

I was not really feeling this one for some reason. So I want to start a new one.

Getting better and better. This character has a positive canthal tilt (upward canthal tilt, meaning her palpebral fissures tilt up and outwards). You will find that some are neutral, totally horizontal and others negative

I do think the eye globe looks too big near the middle, if you draw a small outline for the globe within the fissure and a slightly more notable caruncle and angle at the medial canthus it will look more natural

Your knowledge about these things is crazy good. I had to google most of these to understand but I love it and thank you for always giving me such a good advice.
I tried to stylize the eyes a bit bit I see what you mean about the globe of the eye.
even with stylized it looks kinda wrong especially the left eye (her right).

Hello all! I did something kinda ambitious this time. I saw the Jujutsu Kaisen movie and I wanted to recreate the image on the top left but in a different style. This is the sketch I did.

This was gave me some difficulty because I wasn't used to the angle of the face but also I only really draw a neutral faces. I wanted the character to look bored and it took me many hours of messing around until I figured that if I dropped the eyelids a bit it will give me that effect.
I am still thinking if I should rotate the head a bit like it leaning into the hand. Does it look too stiff as it is now?

Good job! I do think rotating her a bit would add to the pose you are looking for. I think her neck is a bit too thick

Nice job with this, don't sweat the difficulty on 3/4 or 4/5 view, its difficult for everyone. One thin gI would suggest is that if you are going with the more realistic render to get a reference in that pose as well, I would take a look at one specificallyt for the mouth here and how the mouth turns around the form as the head turns. Great work with this keep up the good work!

Thank you @snakker you are right the neck looked a bit weird so I adjusted it a bit. I am still not sure about it but I think it looks better.
Thank you @Lockenheim as well. I spent so many hours on the mouth and still ended up not liking it and what you said helped me a lot.
I adjusted a few other things like the nose and also I rotated the head a bit. The nose and especially the nostrils always give me a lot of trouble but I hope its good enough. I will start with the line art tomorrow.

Yo, it’s coming along nicely
I would recommend rounding out the philtrum and nasal alae as they attach to the face to avoid a flat look at the bottom of the nose now that you have the construction in place and I think the degree of her right eye’s pupil makes it look like she has exotropia unless it’s meant to look like an extreme close up

I tried what snakker suggested but the nose is still hard. I tried to use a 3d model to find a reference in the angle that I want.
I found some mistakes when I compared to it but I think it doesn't have to be perfect to look good.
Anyway this is the final of the sketch and the line art.

looks noice but I think you need to focus more on facial placement before worrying about facial detail. I can draw over your work to show what I meant if it helps.

Hello everyone! I am back with the continuation of the last portrait I did. Not quite finished yet though.

@Gordon003 you are correct its not quite right. I compared it with a 3d model and I can see the mistakes. Especially the eyes are wrong.

I left it like this for now and will try to improve my next one but I want to use 3d models more in the future.
If you see anything else wrong I would be happy if you could show me

For shading I thought I would draw some guide lines. Although I didnt end up using them that much. They confused me more than they helped me.

I ended up going with simpler shading because I thought it looked nicer.

And I tried to color it. I dont know much about colors yet but I tried using a palette.
I ended up using a triad color scheme and I experimented with it a bit.

Finally I tried to add a bit more detail to the hair. I watched some videos about it so I can make them look better.

I want to redo the clothes for now. I rushed them a bit so I can show this.

I want to start doing some figure drawings for a change of pace, but I want to trying rotating a head first.
I started with rotating a box. and it was much harder than it seemed.
I used this circle to help me and also studied how the vanishing points move during the rotation.

I will use what I learned to try rotating a head.

Hello everyone, Pretty busy week for me but I did some exercises.

Started trying 5 minute gesture drawings

I continued from last week with rotating a head.
I felt like I rushed with this one so I am not so happy about it. I think I could do better boxes since the heads dont fit. Although I was just experimenting I am not so happy with the result.
Also for one more time I saw how hard perceptive is. I couldn't keep the size of the boxes the same while rotating them. Need more practice on that area.

I tried it again but with a reference. No boxes this time just eyeballing it.

I will try and add facial features to the latest image tomorrow.

Added the faces to the heads. The side view was a bit hard. Its an angle I haven't practiced much.

Yo! Couple of things that might help, on side view place the small circle or ellipse in the middle instead of all the way back (jaw is too long and ear is too far back) and in front view, do note you wouldn’t see the side circle as it’s just a construction that denotes the part of the skull that is flat or “cut” from the sphere

Hello everyone! This week Marc updated the courses with schedules and I will try to follow them. I will probably not meet the deadlines but I will try my best. First I will try to do the exercises I missed from Term 1 and 2. and I will start from 3 after that.
I did some more gestures.

Also I started a full body one. Will add clothes later.
