Hello everyone! I tried to shade the figure I did last time.
I also realised I didn’t show my process last time. also cleaned up the lines a bit.

My shading is still messy. I still have a long way to go in this area. I will keep working on it💪

Hello everyone, continuing with the clothed figure drawings exercise
I tried some new things this time. Like changing the rotation of the shoulders and pelvis a bit to try to make the figure a bit more dynamic. Not sure if it looks better though.
I had to trace parts of the nose because it was giving too much trouble. I still need to make more face studies.
I will clean up the lines and try to shade it.

Nice change it looks more interesting now.
Your folds look good. Maybe jacket would have a bit more wrinkles on her right side as it is more squished.

Hello everyone! I finished painting my latest piece. I tried focusing on doing correct values for this. Not very successful but I think I did better than last time.
I also watched the latest video of Marc’s about folds and also I found an old video of Sam does arts about the same topic.
On Sam’s video I saw that he was shading with a hard brush and blending what edges he wanted later. With that method it’s easier to make The shape of the shadows and also chose what edges will be hard or soft. I was always shading with a soft brush so everything looked a bit muddy.

Hello everyone! Did a smaller exercise for folds.
Tried to shade with a hard brush and smudging the parts I want afterwards.

This turned out a bit messy but I am generally happy with it since you can see the depth. I feel like I am slowly improving 💪

Hello everyone! Thank you all for your kind words 😊
Tried to apply what I learned from my previous exercise to a shirt.
This got some trouble with this. The folds were more complicated than the previous one.

I also tried to do cell shading because of the latest video Marc released but it turned out even worse. I wast sure where to add the Ambient occlusion. Also I was thinking that I should simplify the shadows a bit but I am not sure how.

I think its just a case of a difficult reference.
It's hard to simplify shadows on a white shirt under the direct spotlight because it's hard to see them. Over all you did a good job. Ambient occlusions apear where light gets traped becous of some sharp corner, some creves or in case of cloathing most often where material overlaps.
If can give you some advice try finding refrence with some difrent lighting condition where shadows are more visible that should make the exercise much simpler.

Finding good reference is hard. For this one I only looked at the folds and thought that they where bit and simple. I didn't think about the direction of the light or the color of the shirt.
I will try to study what makes a good reference and find better ones.

Hello everyone! Did some figure studies from some artists I like this time.
This is from @Dino_illus he is one my favourites. This was nice because he had some of his sketches available.

Didn’t do many details on that one just the figure. I tried to pay attention to the line weight. Do you think it is good? I tried to make it thick in the outside but it looks a bit weird to me.

This is still not yet done. Will try to finish it tomorrow.
I am kinda scared of this hair xD.It may be a bit too much for me right now.
I will try to make it more flowy and not as stiff as the other one.

Deconstruction looks great but for hair, i don't think you have deconstructed it successfully as i think you are just following the visible hair contour and not think about inside. Have you seen this Brunet video on hair?

sup pretzel, good stuff, when it comes to the lineart i feel like you nailed it on the sketch fase, but on the final piece the ticker lines on the body takes the attention away from the face, also it looks more appealing when the lines vary in thickness just like you did on the sketch.

On another note, i did some observations on the second studie that you're doing, i hope you don't mind

Thank you @Gordon003! to tell you the truth I didn't use any construction for the hair, I was just roughly copying what I saw. I watched the video and it makes more sense now. I will try to redo the hair!
Thank you @Pattu_w! About the line art I am still experimenting with brushes and various thickness. Unfortunately the brush I used for the first picture didn't have size/pressure control. I should probably use Marc's brushes for line art.
For the second picture I was feeling that something is off with the body but I couldn't figure out why so this helped a lot.
Your notes amazing and so easy to understand!
Especially the space of the pelvis with the thoracic cage and their rotation. It makes so much more sense now!
I will start tinkering with it

Hello everyone! Tried to fix what I could from my previous sketch.

I tried to fix the hair after watching the video. In some areas I think it looks nice but some others are still a bit weird. I didn’t want to keep adjusting it forever so I think it’s good enough for now.
I tried to fix the figure the figure. I started measuring to make sure it is correct but I think I also understand a bit more about anatomy. I also added the flat colours because I think it makes it look better. I don’t think I will shade it though. I want to do a bit some more figure studies.

Hello everyone! Tried to follow some of mikeymegamega’s videos.

I haven’t taken Marc’s anatomy lesson for the legs yet so I couldn’t understand everything he was doing.
But the Torso was so much more interesting to follow along since I kinda know the anatomy and it was nice to see how he drew certain body parts in this angle.

Hello everyone! I tried another figure drawing this time. I chose this because I think it had nice lighting so I hope it will be easier to shade.

I still need to add a bit more details like the toes and some wrinkles on the clothes. So the line art isn’t done yet but I run out of time today. Also the hands took way too long and they still don’t look too good. Maybe I will go back and adjust them a bit.
