Good luck and best of wishes with your comic! What's it about and have you decided where you are going to host it?
Hey there! Sorry for the delay. I haven't decided yet... honestly i'd like advice. I'd like for it to have it's own website, but i have zero knowkledge of web-desing and it seems kinda daunting. I don't know if it's necessary either. I'd like to look into dedicated webcomic hosting sites. Other than that, tumblr and deviantart sounds like a safe idea. The comic will be an action-adventure story in an industrial-fantasy setting
I started a 365 day challenge: One sketch such as this one every day.
Nice, I started one recently too. I am on 44 I think. I post them on IG @catapanoart. Look forward to seeing them.
Thanks! That's really good stuff on your end
Here's number two for my challenge!
Some loose studies of a few roadside photos i took. Little details were added
I Love how you draw facial expressions!
Thanks!
"The infantrymen of the Imperial Army do a lot of close-quarters fighting in the rocky terrain of the eastern frontier. And that's just how they like it"
Sketch 3/365 for my challenge
I decided to add monochromatic color, because pure black and white is a bit boring. I'm a little uncertain at which point somehting stops being a "sketch", so i'm taking it as a time limit of under half an hour.
Nice! I really like that last sketch. It already has a nice mood. The character looks pretty cool too.
Here's 4/365
Number 5/365! I think this one is my favorite yet. I followed the advice to "compose with triangles" and i think it worked well.
Sketch 6/365
Daily sketch 7/365
Great Work! Good luck on your comic!
Thank you!
Here are some other recent sketches
Those sketches look very nice. That hellish centaur-demon thing is especially awesome. And I see a lot of medieval/fantasy in those sketches. Are those ideas for your comics?
Thanks! Yes, most of these are.
First off man I hope you make that comic. I love fantasy and your stuff is cool. From what I see, your doing everything right in regards to studying and creating cool illustrations sketches. Is your final goal to do everything in color? In my opinion I still believe you should work on your line arts a bit more and do some more value studies. A quick tip regarding values is to do things in layers. 1 layer for shadows and another for lights. Another layer for Ambient Occlusion and you should have a cool base. From there you can merge things and do a paint over to fix things. Anyway keep up the awesome work man. I see lots of potential here.
