I did a quick value check and added a rough background. Def going to fix a few mistakes that Xybb pointed out (thank you Xybb again!)
If anyone sees something wrong with my values, feel free to let me know! Especially if you think the girl is not successfully the first thing that catches your attention.
( the rest is nerdy art rambling, you have been warned )
In my head, I really loved the idea of a serene, blue (or jade-ish?) misty and mysterious floral place, with a girl unusually playing a black guitar soulfully (I wanted the guitar to stand out and seem a bit out of place). Hopefully by the time I complete this illustration, I would be able to convey a bit of my desired message through this visual imargery.
I experimented with making some large flowers around her have a brighter value than her skin, despite them not being the main focal point. I think it would help make them feel like they're glowing. I personally thought it still worked, because the flowers will be surrounded by a more noisy background. I thought the girl still would draw the most attention, since there is less noise on her compared to the area around her, and she was already at the center of the piece.
Also I dont know if it was clearly conveyed enough, but I purposefully formed a lot of (negative space) triangles, albeit very rough, in the piece for more uniformity.
