I struggled with the final color part of this exercise quite a bit. I still haven’t found a good method to match colors using the combination of tools yet, but I’ll get it eventually. Color is one of the areas I’m lacking most lol.

Parts of this months figure drawing from the beginning of the month. I think I’m getting better on the proportion aspect of gesture. I’ve been trying other methods of shaping the body as well after watching other tutorials on how to capture gesture that I’ll upload next month.

Parts of cylinder practice. I’m not sure if I should continue the basic cylinders or move on to more complex shapes as I did later in the weeks. But I’ll keep doing a combination of both.

Some of the many pen control exercises I’ve done. My hands are super shaky even to this day lol. I tried drawing a bit slower with more control for these to hopefully get rid of the shakiness.

Just one of the many VP and horizon practices. I used street view to get my own reference. There are some Firefox extensions to get rid of the street view ui which I recommend.

And for now some more free time doodles outside of practice. That’s all for now, most of the the other drawings are similar in terms of practice. I may or may not upload those as they are pretty much the same, just slightly different.

The last one is really hard to match. I did it with 4 adjustment layers and the result is not as good as I wish.

Yo great work all around, I see you are into the anime style and I see you have a good foundation on drawing anatomy on the figure without overstating the structures with lines

Not sure how you feel about that symmetry portrait doodle, I tend to feel that its better to make portraits even from front view slightly asymmetrical unless you are purposefully going for that look but it always seems to me to be a bit unnatural 😅 other than that your anime faces have a very interesting style

Oh yea for sure the symmetrical drawings usually have that feel to it. I've found that when I can draw with symmetry I use it, more as a crutch tbh. And it generally only works for those symmetrical objects, so I don't use it too much. However I have been finding that I draw more towards the style I have in mind as an end goal when I use it. Over time I hope to be able to free hand at any angle and consistently keep the look I want, whichever that may be in the future lol.

Yea I've been working on that one on and off for a few days, I can't get it to match lol. I thought for a minute that it was because I was using Procreate, but it shouldn't change the outcome that much.
