Hi!

My name's Gabe and I am here to improve my skills as an artist. I graduated from high school last year and am taking a gap year due to the stresses of the pandemic. I bought the program to keep myself in check by drawing and learning daily as I've not been good at that ever since quarantine began.

Right now, some of my goals are to be able to start rendering realistically (similar to League of Legends Splash Art) and to create art at a consistent rate. This and to be able to find other artists whom can inspire me and challenge me to do better as a whole.

Ok so I went through the first video and some bits of it I had to go search online since I use Krita instead of Photoshop. Other than that I learned quite a bit of the most useful tools such as the color balance and leveler. I think that I did pretty good on using the color changer and leveler tools though I can't get the hang of using the color balance tool. If anyone has any tips on getting great color balance then that would be pretty sweet and appreciated

Edit: I just realized how shaky my lines are for the circle portion. Another thing about me is that I heavily rely on using big sized brushes to cover my shakiness so I gotta work on that.

Edit 2: Did not notice till after posting the saturation and value levels are completely off from the original assignment pages. Will try to pay attention to that before posting something.

Edit 3: Ok fixed it! Don't know why but was done by changing the type of file from jpg to png and unchecked the "force sRGB" when exporting.

And the last picture is a really mean one, for a lot of us

I managed to do the assignment for digital production where I combine several images. Gotta say it was challenging due to each of the images having different resolutions and color balances. I also had to get a jpeg of some wood to finish the balcony since the original didn't have one. Some other stuff I learned to use was the brush modes specifically burn and color dodge.

Overall I enjoy this assignment due to many of the new things I had to use from the lecture. I'll probably need to get better at using the select tool and blending objects into the environment more seamlessly.

Here is a study of a Greek statue I found on Pinterest. I wanted to focus on getting better on values and shadows. This also gave me great practice on shading around the form.

Another greek statue study! This one was a bit more challenging to me. Ended up lowering the rendering for the beard and changed some of the forms:
