She's a snakey lady - pls giv critique

Hello, here's a practice thing I made, and would love to get criticism on.

Need to know more of the story or your intention, or what type of product its for before I might be able to help more.

Off the bat, Is it actually done? And belong in finished works? If so, it looks like a cool character, a little difficult to tell if its a snake lady at first....but she's sad she doesn't have something to throw a fireball at?

values might need more work, especially on the character.
typically you would have more contrast on your focal point.
now i think the trees surrounding her have too much contrast because of the dark shadows.

It doesn't really have a purpose apart from practicing, but you've given me some good food for thought the next time I make a work like this, as I don't have proper answers for your questions and the artwork should've given them to begin with. Thank you for your input!
