Eating or drawing, maybe sleeping?
That was the biggest problem I had to face, and after I finished my first work after a two years break (except for those little sketches I do in class or when I go to one of those artist meetings from time to time) I already had the next question in mind: "Should I draw again? I'm hungry."

After a two year hiatus of drawing I got inspired by Marc Brunet's "Flower born".
I tried to experiment with colour and this is the result.
On my Laptop (my chosen and only available drawing device in connection with my wacom bamboo fun tablet) the colours are more pale, so if the colours on your display are totally bright, this was not my intention. I only saw that when I wanted to uplowd this image on instagram and the colours just hit me in the face with my mobile.

Altough, please feel free to leave any kind of criticism.

Another important thing to realize is that you don't HAVE to make art a job. I know plenty of people who do it for fun, and that is essentially why we do art, to express ourselves. So even if you fall behind, don't put down the pencil!

Firstly, Welcome to the forums. Glad to have you along.
I'm inspired by Marc as well. Might notice this just by looking at my art.
Just like @achronic said, don't put down the pencil. Just have fun.
I really loved Marc's Flower born characters as well. I think this is an cool character so far.
I recommend looking at some anatomy reference to fix somethings. Also a good practice is to finish the feet. Don't neglect not doing something because it's hard. You'll learn more by just taking you time and working through the problem. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing more.

Thank you two for the advice I think, even though sometimes I have artblocks which last over months, I will never stop drawing. I'm still young (18 yey, so much responsibilty), and it would be nice, if I could fill the rest of my life with more and more art drawn by myself (and inspiration from great artists all over the world). Every great artist starts at some point, and they all have something in common: they don't give up.

@malcom I actually had the thought of drawing the feet (personally I think toes are even simpler to draw than fingers), but since I drawed this image for about twelve hours straight I finally thought, that I should just clean up some parts xD But I think you're right. This is a great advice to sort of "finish" a work, so that everything has some details and not giving up only because you're impatient. Will defenetly use it for the next piece I'm working on - a nativ (american?) girl in a fighting pose (only announce it because so I have to really finish it insteadt of discaring what's already drawn because no one knows, right? )

So here is a WIP. I'm not sure how the colours will turn out (will take a look when it's uploaded on another device), but this idea came out a few weeks ago, when I was just sketching and scrolling though my tumblr.

Since a few days now I try to draw something every single day. It went good 'til now, hope to keep that up. That thing with the native american girl got discarded after her face didn't came out as I hoped it to be... so yeah... I know it's not good to do that, but that image just didn't motivatet me anymore. Hope you like the new WIP instead.

Sooooooo. This time I've drawn a fanart of Akira Toriyamas Cyborg/Android 18 (Idk in Germany she has a different name)
Nontheless I had a lot of fun while drawing.

Fun is something I always want you to have. Never not have fun.
Here's my feedback for this piece.
Head proportions are a bit off. Eyes feel really far apart. The shading makes the face feel a bit flat as well. Not sure if you were using a reference or not but if you weren't, just find a reference of a female head and use it as a guide to fix things. Here's a great reference for understanding the form of the head by Micheal Hampton.

This should help you understand the structure behind drawing a head as well as the forms.
I recommend working in black and white when doing the shading. Don't worry about colors to much. Just focus on forms and drawing for now. That's my C&C at this moment. Hope it helps.

Next time I try to avoid colours at the beginning (I know that there are methods in which you use colours at the end, but I never got comfortable with those methods, but I'll give it a try).
For todays work I used that reference you uploaded. Not sure if this is any better, but if I practice more it won't take long to see some results.

This time it's a fanart of Disney's Pocahontas. The BG was... well.. quite frustrating. If somebody has any tipps for environmental drawing I would be really thankful.
Also it seems that I have some problems with the eye. With a pencil I don't have these problems... Digital it just totally stiff xD If you know what I mean? Any tips?
