Oy that line weight and shading really makes that last one look much better!
Thanks! @daceronine
And so it begins, first a diagnostic control, just to see where I'm at when winging it at this point - folds from imagination. I'm off to do the assignments now
cheers
The proportion looks pretty good. The woman's right eye is a little lower than the other. You're doing well on the profile pictures. Good work on the folds.
Thanks for the observations! @gregorya
Phew, not sure this is how to go about it, and I may have gone overboard with the head rendering but here is the first folds-from-reference exercise
Any observations appreciated cheers!
Process and reference
Oy Neo is looking good! His head is a bit skewed, but overall it looks great!
Thanks for the kind words and for the observation π
Second study, focusing more on folds
ooh these studies b lookin great!
Thanks!
Part of the assignments is making 10 heads from reference lineart only, hereβs the first one, Don Frye
Cheers!
Lol, couldnβt help myself
Ha ha, those 10 heads also took me some time because I also kept shading them. This looks good! I was about to say his nose was crooked, but then I realized in the original his nose is crooked as well, so that's a plus on the detail side
Thank you! Yes, his nose is well acquainted with fists π
Number 2, I feel much more comfortable in the block-in phase these days. I still feel it is the most important phase, but it has become way easier than at first - I used to struggle a lot with this part
Decided to improve on the eye some more, will move on to the next one now
Cheers
I feel you, to resist the urge to shade it's HARD. Those do look great tho.
Thank you! And yeah, really hard XD
Here Iβm drawing Shakira, started adding detail on the face in stead of just gradually detailing the entire piece XD and the mouth is really giving me trouble
Gonna take a break for a little
Damn that's nice. The wrinkles and shadows in the skin look great, and that eyeball shadow with the detailed eyelashes. That's good stuff.
yooo these studies look awesome as always! great work!
Thanks! @mitsuki-youko @daceronine
Couple of works in progress, shakira on procreate advancing a bit with rendering and a "straight to paint" or A la prima? in photoshop (obviously not really ala prima as this aint oils XD) but just training myself to think in shapes from big to small and not use much construction even though I can see it as Im shading - i dunno, its fun to try though big to small brush, trying not to brush too much - also NO ZOOMING X_X
wip2 gonna take a break for food XD
lookin good so far! and no zoom! wow!
Sorry for all the WIPs just want to share how its going and just in case anyone has anything to say at this phase cheers!
gonna walk the dogs
