Hey everyone, just a I am alive kinda update, art is definitely an outlet for me but right now, this post is more about feeling that I really appreciate this community, you guys are great and I feel, if this was a classroom Id at least owe you guys a little on why im absent

I am just in a really dark place right now, emotionally speaking due to some pretty mean curveballs life throws at you in the ugliest ways. I know I will grow from this, but change is painful.

I will be getting back to art once I muster my strength. In the meanwhile I am carrying my art supplies when i leave home but yeah, not much to show mates

To better times, better people, and man dogs, dogs really are the better species

Oy, believe me, I understand life throwing lemons. Hope you get better from what you are going through. At times it seems like things are just the worst, but that means they can only improve. Cheers mate.

Hope you recover swiftly from this.
Don't know if you are in any kind of therapy, but if you aren't, I really encourage you to find one that suits you. We need all the help that we can get when we go through our darkest hours.

I'm sorry to hear about what you are going through Snakker. Life does have a way of taking the wind out of your sails in the worst ways sometimes, but it also has a way granting it back to you in the most unexpected ways. I hope that you can get a break and find some peace to help you heal through this time. I'm happy you have a friend that is helping you through this, its much easier to face these times with someone who has your back. My heart goes out to you, stay strong Snakker

Don't worry mate, caring about our fellows as the person we are is normal and wanting to let it out is also perfectly normal. Of course as much as we send good vibes your way, it can't replace the aid of a proffesional. But as you said, you are already doing that, so I'm sure given time, you'll move ahead.

Speaking of, that first piece has really nice shading and expression. Not sure if it's from imagination? looks pretty cool.

The idea sketch is pretty weird, is it representing something? or just random sketching? Feel like the little head is being sucked in by the big guy.

The anger expressions look pretty good. For the first one, does the character have his eyes closed or is he squinting?
For the work-in-progress sketch, Is the creature eating a character, or spitting it out? Either way, I like it.
The scream anatomy sketch looks great. The arms are a bit off. the left arm's too big and the right arm is too small.

As for the weird creature, well, when I draw from imagination, it's a pretty common theme for me to have heads coming out of heads on repeat, kind of making landscapes if that somehow makes surreal sense. As for this piece, I was in a bad place and drawing emotions to kind of let it out. This one is more about despair, so definitely getting swallowed by the nightmare creature. the others represent pain and anger. A few missing if I go for all the emotions of grief response cycle

Anyhow, let's see if I can grab that stylus for a bit today

I see, I hope you feel better. The nightmare creature sounds like an interesting idea. What if the person getting swallowed is fighting to stop despair?

Could be mate. I'm still struggling a bit. Hopefully will be able to bounce back to art soon. I've been in a bit of a bad place so yeah. On a positive note, I've started taking serious guitar classes in an academy so at least I'm working on something good and I've been just trying to take care of my basics.

I could feel so much energy from your feedback there that I came here to read your blog...and I went through your all journey, and this was so inspiring for me. And here I am ^_^

Phew, been a while since I grabbed a stylus for some studies Anyhow, did me a quick Frazetta study, noticed a lot of high contrast in his work, lots of silhouette work, shape language expressed with subtle hints (highlights in shadows, shadow shapes etc) but underneath it's quite expressive looking results I can tell there is a lot of technical knowledge, anatomy, construction and perspective. I just blocked it in and painted some color and shadows while thinking more on the composition stuff mentioned and in 2D

And a quick trunk study which is quite evidently not accurate. Guess I'm rusty XD
