Lately I've been working on this space baseball guy which I'm planning to turn into a sculpt to 3D print as a gift for my dad. For some reason he just really wanted me to do something baseball themed, I don't know why but he gave me a description how he wanted some space guy with a tentacle arm catching a baseball.

It sounded cool so I ran with it. I would like a bit of critique in regards if I'm losing the overall baseball theme or if some parts of the concept look too clustered or unoriginal. I'm not entirely good with scifi so I used a lot of references I thought were cool designs to incorporate into the guy.

How about an action pose of the guy using his tentacles as baseball glove while catching the ball.
Maybe a sports team logo on the front.

A futuristic fictional branding that the baseball guy could be reping would be nice.

Maybe check its anatomy before sculpting? Especially his legs seem too short. The design looks cool though. :sunny:

I agree with @kigerneko about the legs. Maybe you could draw him in an A-pose before doing the perspective? Start with black silhouettes, then choose your best, go add some details in grey an so on. I like some design choices you made, but you can push the shapes a lot more to make it interesting.
Good luck

I figured his legs looked a bit short but I wasn't sure if it was noticeable or not. I started doing a base sculpt in Zbrush but its nothing other than an torso, I'm mainly relying on the sketch for design and not for anatomy but I'll correct the sketch.

@enalya I had a pose in mind which @shier_sea completely read my mind on. I'll definitely work on the design and pose more before going full into the modeling phase.

Thank you for the feedback so far, I'll post updates soon.
