Hello everyone.
My name is richard, im from germany. Im working as a full time software engineer (focused field: robotics). Always liked having creative hobbies such as playing piano or ebass. I started getting more into art earlier this year with one of those draw for 100 days challenges. I completed my challenge, but after redrawing artworks for ~30 days i realized that i need basics to do my own stuff. From there on the challenge escalated from drawing 20 minutes a day to all the hours i have left after work. It was a lot of fun, but im looking for the next step. Nice to meet you all. Hope we can grow together and have a great time while doing so : )

All Critique and hints and tips and and are very welcome.
I hope to grow fast enough to return proper tips etc. asap.

As mentioned above i started with one of those 100 days challenges. and had no experience in drawing (aside from just a bit of technical drawing).
Since i have the opportunity to cover my whole art journey here ill just do so ( i hope this is fine : ) )

Ill post some things from that challenge first. After that there will most likeley only be stuff from the different Terms

Day 1-10:
All of these are redraws, so i put smth i liked on the screen and drew it. Day 1 i only had a ballpoint pen at hand and for quite a while i sticked ot these post it like chits ( is that the right word?) I dont remember the Artists of the original works, im sorry. Some might even be AI. At that point i didnt have the Eye to spot AI art at all

i continued later with some more redraws, but actual paper. also tried to move a bit further than just portraits. i think this is the first one i did with a real foto as reference:

another redraw:

Swapped to digital on day 50 again with a redraw:

somewhere around day 60 i decided to stop redrawing and instead only use fotos as reference, at the same time i also started drawing boxes and watched a lot of theory videos on how to actually contsruct etc. pretty sure it was here that i got in touch with marcs videos

day69:

day77:

wanted to do more with colors (without knowing anything about color theory) due to seeing a lot of mika pikazo artworks.

Day86:

First time drawing background stuff. After looking at this ~2days later i got really upset about how bad the head looks and went back to portraits for a while

then went ahead and tried to draw bodies again. didnt really have any plan or structure on how to do things.

and finally day 100:
(had a ref from a manikin for that pose.now that i look at it her leg got a bit big : D )

that was ~25 days ago
since then i tried practicing random things:
Again i didnt really construct. Didnt even know the line of action then.

think a hand tutorial then introduced me to constructing things so here is my arm

another bit from a foto ref:

aaaaand this was yesterday while listening to pendulum (hence the background)

so thats it i think my whole art journey so far in one post.
hope to learn a lot from the school with everyone.

great share, hell of a ride.
