AAA I'M SO EXCITED TO HAVE PURCHASED THIS
I'm also so glad that it doesn't require photoshop, cause I have everything but, it seems. =/w/=''

I'll be happy to use this forum to be able to post my own things here exclusively with what I've done in comparison, as well as conversations any of you guys want to have over any of it, or just other things in general about the class.

I'm really excited to get this started...! Thank you kindly for having me.

Um if you actually want to see any of my art separate from this class, I am happy to share links n'such, since one would have to... kinda backlog through my twitter in order to see art since I haven't done too much for the last few months; bad on my part.

My pen control is not exactly the best right now, ahaha oops. I also didn't find a good way to actually get the opacity to change with the pressure on clip studio? So I just went in and faded it myself.... -sweats profusely-

Context: I used to always use monoprice; it was ergonomic and kind to my wrists, but since it broke, the version I had is no longer produced, so it's been a tough few months getting used to this tiny.. boxy..... wacom.... but I digress; I'm sure I'll get used to it so long as I keep at it.

Being ill doesn't help, but it won't stop me....!!

Practice 2 was unable to load in any of my programs, despite being saved as a .psd, so I wonder if it's specific to only photoshop?? Either way, it's unfortunate that I am unable to.

I hope I'm not going too far ahead....! I got too excited about this and went ahead and did project 3.

Here are the images I used as reference:

You'll be surprise how many great artist started and still use bamboo and wacom tablets. Its all practice, but still use your whole arm if u can or carpel tunnel will set in.

Ehehe, I know, I made a set up so that it hurts my wrists less and does less damage. I do all I can to make sure that I don't strain my hand since it's so precious to me. Thank you for the advice...!

Great job! Happy to have purchased this early too. Can't wait to see some progress!

Wow, your project 3 looks really good! Creates a very calm feeling. :relieved:

@Holland I'm so glad! That was the feeling I was going for. I always love the feelings of aquariums; the wall of jellyfish, the shark tunnel, ugh it's my favorite thing... With the ambiance that the glow of the light coming through the water down to you, it's just so soothing. I've always wanted to live in that feeling.

That project is looking absolutely amazing! I'm really curious what tool you used to get the jellyfish and reaf go together so amazingly? Keep it up and keep doing those lines and circles =) It's going to pay off so much. Good luck!

Excellent job on the project 3  if constructive criticism is ok, one thing I would adjust is the levels on the house itself might be a little high. Depending on how you have it set up in your program I would either adjust the curves on the house layer to be a little darker (if curves ain't a thing in that program you can fake it by creating a new layer over it and just paint a black or dark blue with opacity really low) just to cut back a little on those highlights. it's a lovely piece  I really like the color choice and the layout of everything

@Ardeey Well I did quite a bit. I had two different layers for the jellyfish, one of a lower, darker blending of the background, and then a glow layer ontop of it to make them pop out and be affected by the play of light from the background image.

@Blackbarti I understand that, as I kind of thought so as well, but whenever I downed the contrast, the house no longer pulled your gaze from the rest of the light shining through from the top. So I gave myself the excuse that it's a white roofing, so it's refracting the light /that/ intensely. It's why the jellyfish are different levels, to help harmonize the piece together. I love that critique tho! I had the exact same thoughts, but when I saw it with a higher contrast, I did fall in love with it, so it's a personal preference. u/v/u''
I'm so glad you looked at it so critically, and that you still enjoyed it overall.

Addition of Apples

I went ahead and changed values and added a glow of a light source and hahaha -fidgets timidly- I like more of a pinker apple than yellow one? I'm very used to Honeycrisps and Pink Ladies for my apple intake, so I thought to imitate those here. I'll let you guys use the before image you have, since we all should have the same image to work off of.
I didn't add too many tho! Clip Studio does /not/ like color picking... and sai is forever hopeless with it's selection tool.

I feel so so bad.... I can't liquify in clip studio, and it does not have stamp/healing brushes. So I just winged the idea as best as I could for two and three here.

You can fully ignore these, since I know they're not good simply for my lack of interest in photoshop.... -sweats profusely-

YAS ONTO THE ACTUAL DRAWING THANK FRIKK
-falls over-
Graphic designing and photo manipulation are my least favorites.
Glad to have them out of the way... -sighs in relief-

I already know these basics of anatomy so I'm going to jump ahead with just making sure I apply figure drawing. I know I never do it enough in the first place. Last time I did it, it took a while to get in the flow of ignoring details, and I wound up with this oldie when I finally succeeded:

So I have no clue how I'm gonna post the every day gesture/figure drawing without it being a bit convoluted in space here, so I think I might just archive links and add each day to the previous post.

Also, @marc your perspective lessions are on point. You are the first person to ever get me to finally understand perspective.... and I thank you so much for that...

Side note: I still hate drawing buildings but I'll do my best, as well.

Looking good! Yeah I used to use Monoprice but it died on me so easily. I got a small Intuos after that, and it was much better. Good for you working around your obstacles, looking forward to seeing more.
