Here is the second assignment. I feel like I'm taking the instructions too literally. I'm an accomplished photographer, so I've done a lot of this type of color correction before, but I'm not quite getting it to match on the last one. I didn't make INDIVIDUAL selections on the picture to correct the color, which I feel like is the 'right' answer. Anyone have any suggestions? CC, please.

Since you took the time to critique my work I though I'd do the same for you c: I don't know your tablet type, I've only ever worked with wacom's tablets, but it looks like you're getting the hang of it (great second go on your hue/ saturation shifting on the last image, it's a clear improvement on your first. It's been a pain in the backside for everyone haha).

On the Discord channel's Resources topic someone posted an elaborated version of the pen lines assignment, I just found it myself and I think it'll really help improve your pen control, so maybe give that a shot? It can't hurt either way c:

hey, I think this is a very nice composite. It has story and mood to it. The only thing I would say is that lacks some foreground for depth and overlap. Maybe the ship could be a good foreground element by making it nearer and bigger. So you would have a great 1-2-3 read to. Enhancing the contrast on the ship would make for a stronger focal point too. Just my opinion of course :smile: Hope you find it helpul. Keep it up!

Yeah, I was afraid to bring the ship too far into the foreground and have it dominate the scene. What I wanted to do, but couldn't find decent images to use, was to have a series of rope bridges from sea-stack to sea-stack, with on coming towards the viewer from the far right sea-stack. So, I may add to this later once I can fabricate the right look in 3D (like, in Blender) to comp into the scene.

@connail heya! I like the story in your latest assignment. Great job!

As per feedback I'd say:
1. The castle is currently not distinguishable enough from the rocks and very hard to 'read'. It doesn't attract attention. The same is true for the ship, but for another reason: it is too small and placed in such a space you really have to go look for it! I'd suggest playing a bit more with the overal shape, scale and contrast in value/color of your composition to pop out elements you want to pop out! It could be inspiring to check google for environment matte paintings or thumbnails? Maybe it can help!
