Hi everybody,

My name is Tom, 35 years young and from the Netherlands. I'm a full-time graphic designer and a parttime business-owner (I have a small side-business with also a focus on graphic design, (digital) illustration and even murals).

As I'm a self-thought digital artist / illustrator, my hope is that this program can lift my skills to a higher level. I never learned the fundamentals and that's why I choose this program, to go back to the basics and hopefully learn something new and exciting.

I also dream of making my own graphic novel someday and with this program I think I can learn a lot that will contribute to that dream.

Here is some of my work (before this Art School):

note: English is not my native language, so my apologies for any typos of incorrect grammar

Welcome to the forums Tom! You clearly already know a good deal, I think you'll zoom by some of the initial terms. Bests of luck in this journey!

amazing stuff and already so accomplished I'm a little jealous haha

10 days later

Hello everybody,
The last 2 weeks I have started with term 01. I tried to do the daily exercises, but as I am quite busy with my daily job, I can't always get around to it. That being said, I am a little bit ahead of the schedule. Mainly because term 01 is also a bit (too) back to basics haha :relaxed:(Mainly the photoshop production assignments).
Nevertheless I did all the exercises to stay in the flow (not daily, but a few times a week). I find the Pen Control "warm up" very useful and will try to get this in my daily routine (also at work). Same goes for the Gesture drawing excercises.

Here are a few examples of the gesture drawing assigments I did. The first six are traced over, the last 6 are studies:

And here are some quick gesture drawings (mostly 30 and 60 seconds):

Thats it for now, I shall try to keep you guys updated

These all look good! Though from your previous work it was clear you'd have little trouble with these first parts xD.

Those gestures are REALLY good for just 30/60 seconds though. Very impressive!
