I'm leaning towards combining elements from 1, 3 and 4. My favorite outfits are 3 & 4. Having trouble deciding.
And no, I haven't named him. Should I? Is that a requirement now? :sweat_smile:

I don't know if this could be a requirement but it can be really interesting hahah to give to our character a bit more personality :grin:
Personally If I have to choose the 3 or 4 outfit I think that I prefer the 4, but I don't know it depends on which style you want to follow. The 4 seems more like "futuristic" :joy: and the 3 seems more fantasy, maybe with a dragon is better the fantasy one.
Or maybe you can create a steam punk dragon scene hahaha I think that no one has seen it before :joy: just kidding, but I have to say that the 1 has a really good :peach: :joy: :joy: I love the fact that the belt seems a super cool elastic of his underpants ahahah

@chiara.arcidiaco
Yooooo. That illustration thumbnail is so cool. I'm a big fan of the composition.

@WeirdOwl
Hmm... I appear to be in the minority but I actually like the top right one haha. I think it might be because I like the contrast of the simple outfit and the complicated crystal designs? Not too sure why, but it speaks to me!

@chiara.arcidiaco hrm... maybe fantasy or cyberpunk. I'm really shitty with names though, just a fair warning :sweat_smile:

@chrihoonart no problem to have a different opinion! I just realized when I was looking at the designs that top right reminds me of the buff guys showing off at the gyms. Not exactly the personality I was going for here. :laughing:

@jazzy Top right? Bottom right?

@WeirdOwl Bottom right! Sorry I still haven't had my morning coffee hides

Haha. No problem @jazzy. I'm only halfway through mine. Thank you for the input! I'm leaning towards that one as well. Except the crystal pattern. I like it better on bottom left.

I'm gonna take a stab at bioluminescence (or it might stab me)

Very nice! Underwater theme with glowing skeleton? Great proportions.

Thanks! :3 And that is the planned theme. Might end up turning him into a not so unique poseidon. But for now, I work as a slave to Starbucks.

So I really like all of them! But that wouldn't be much help. I love the idea of the open jacket a lot. Show his sexy back, please! XD Maybe No. 1 has a bit too much crystals. A combination of no. 1 and 4?

Guys I was thinking during the stream that mayyybe Marc could post the winner in the cubebrush page on instagram? But I don't know if there will be an actual winner, we have different skill level. let me know what you think :innocent:

We can always ask him to do a multi-image post. He can choose himself what order to arrange the art though.

So while watching the livestream I did the sketch for this challenge including comments from you all about the guy (sorry @chiara.arcidiaco still haven't named him, but you can give him a code name if you want :smile:).
Any critique about composition/design?

I LOVE it hahah this is so great... I really like the elements of his clothes and his facial expression is really intense.

One saddle thing that I would change is the canvas size, to make the emphasis more clear with the thirds composition and make the elbow not so near to the edge of the canvas. Forgive me I give it a try downloading it and I was thinking something like this.

Thanks Chiara! I can see your point giving them a little more breathing room in the canvas.
Maybe more like this?

Yes I think that it's better, even if it was awesome just before hahah I'm so damn curious how you will render those crystals :heart_eyes: :heart_eyes: And I forgot to say that I love the idea of crystal teeth of the dragon hahah I didn't expect that :joy:

I'm very nervous to approach this render. :sweat_smile:
Btw, when are we gonna see an update on your Queen of the Deep?

I have still to polish my lineart but hopefully tomorrow I will show you something :smirk: haha
My problem is that the more references I see the more ideas I get and then my previous idea seems updated to me... I don't know hahah I try to not rush on it but there are also cons on this method :sweat_smile:
