Term 2 - Week 2 = Finished!
Had a great time with my two-week week, I feel like I really have a much better understanding of how facial features are constructed, placed and work. Much, much more than I had previous, and I really feel like it's already starting to make a big difference. A long way to go mind, but it's nice to see progress like this.
I originally started this art blog because I was in a bad place with my art and wanted something to keep me motivated, to make sure that I keep going every day, and I think even in just the last, what, near two weeks? It really has made a difference.
So, finished the last portion of Anatomy 1 - eyes.
Actually much more simple than I had initially thought, and it's amazing how far some good shading can really take simple shapes. I never really appreciated that before. Even though realistic artwork isn't what I want to end up doing, it's still valuable, and I'm thinking tomorrow I might grab some references from pinterest or something and construct the eyes. Just gotta keep practicing.
Notes on the eye

Below is a head constructed from imagination using all of the lessons learnt as part of T2W2. It's not the best, but I couldn't have seen myself making something like this two weeks ago, so I'm happy!

30-day head drawing exercise
Trying to get back on track with this one - on day 19 now - the section on using the nose construction method before threw me because I hadn't gotten to that point yet, but now I have - continuing on. Looking forward to seeing what my results look like come day 30, but I feel good in the practice I've been doing and the information I've retained doing it.

2-min gestures
Some that aren't too great here, but a few I'm really happy with, too. Trying to be looser with them, and honestly, I think before I've been too focused on cleanly capturing all these perfect proportions and smooth curves like I see others achieve (which is still ideal) but now I'm just trying to find the gesture and not worrying so much about any lines that may make it look a bit on the messier side. Am also trying to make a conscious effort to reinforce final marks with thicker lines, and work on leg length/placement/proportion (WIP haha)

Personal piece!
Really happy with the lines and how this is coming along. And I think the anatomy and foreshortening generally look alright. Always room for improvement of course, but I don't want to get caught up in perfectionism, I just want to make something I'm proud of regardless.
Want to do a pass on this, probably tomorrow, to thicken up some of the lineart before I hit the next steps.

Overall a happy chappy.
