More studying of cloth and drapery, this time over a woman's figure.
While I was using a (blurry) photo reference, the intent of this is spending as much time understanding the structure of the folds as possible, dividing them into categories (tubes, spirals, zig zags, and inert folds). I find inert folds (where the canvas is not suspended but rather just clumped down, and the only vertical parts are due to the natural stiffness of the fabric) are the hardest to pull off.
I think from here on I'll move on to applying this stuff to more modern clothing. It's the same principle, but there's more variety to the glossiness and stiffness of the fabrics.
