I believe you answered your own questions about the piece. I like the triangle composition you have. One weird thing is that the face doesn't have to most contrast. The stomach and legs do. I recommend doing some thumbnails first. Doing thumbs to really focus on the composition. Then do a line art of the a thumbnail you like. With the line art you can really focus on the story and design of everything a lot more. Then move to values and then color.
Tbh I think the composition is cool but the legs should probably be in a different pose, the knees should probably be pointing up, instead of touching the ground/dude in the ground...
And now for the main thing, It totally looks like there's something lewd going on XD, maybe just move that feet from there hahah!
