I did some concepting and thumbnailing last week, initially going for scifi but wasn't really feeling it. Then I got a stroke of inspiration going through some old ideas from a few years back and came up with this.
So I'm going with Fantasy

Context : Something happened in an obscure time in the past which blew a massive hole into the Earth, spilling the contents of the Inner Earth onto the surface.

Compositon and mood that I'm settling on. I want something close to night with a lot of light source coming from the towns that are on the sky whale's back. I'll be working on the concept sheet next, designing the towns and whatnots.

I couldn't manage to complete my submission for the Art War challenge, left it in black and white as I couldn't put in colors mostly due to my personal lack of skills. Hope I can manage to finish this environment up after a few months of studying and practice since then.

This took quite some time, will most probably be the final concept sheet. Most likely I won't touch this anymore. I have to get into the painting to be able to get a more concrete feel for this concept as there are some things that I'm unsure about so I'm hoping to run into some happy accidents during the painting process.
