Since (from "2D Submission Requirements") "Matte paintings are accepted" and using photos is essential for matte painting techniques, "use photos as reference" means that photos can be a part of final image (as a processed components of the whole image) or everything should be painted (with no photo elements on the canvas)?

Thank you in advance for reply.

Jonatan

Matte paintings always use photos so it's definitely allowed just as long as each individual photos you sample can never be recognized.

Unlimited texture size and polycount - you render in whatever you want or make it game-ready. It's not specified so it's up to you.

When you say ''Fantasy= because magic'' , does that mean simple medieval elements without obvious presense of magic, dragons, etc are not permitted?
Say, a castle or something similar is out of the question?

Also, does ''over the old world'' mean literally over? Or is it enough for the old remains to be nearby or something? I'm guessing no, but I want to make sure

Cheers

How do I use the embedded Marmoset viewer?

Hello
Is it ok if I will create a 2d stylized environment using Microsoft PowerPoint? (It sounds kinda weird, but it is possible)

Sure. If that's how you like to paint

Hi there, thanks for hosting the contest  I was wondering if by one entry, does it consist of only one final piece, or can it be multiple pieces?

Hi there, can I make a flying city ? After the war, people can't live on lands anymore because of toxic gas, they have to build a flying city above the old ones. Is it eligible enough ? Thanks.

You can make anything as long as it fits the genre you chose and isn't against the rules.

Are there any rules on medium choices: Watercolor, gouache, copics etc?
My Wacom was laid to rest a month ago. Currently build funds for a new one.
And I apologize in advance if this question has already been asked.

I think they say somewhere in the rules that it's digital only. Sorry buddy

Thanks thakis. Looks like I have to go give a few several pints of blood then.

Hey guys, we adjusted the brief/rules a little bit to make them more open, less restrictive - have a look!

Hopefully this shouldn't affect you if you started already. If anything it'll allow you to breathe a little more

Has deadline got doubled? I wonder what's the reason for that though, rules don't seem to be changed that much

Thats awesome, I think I was barely going to make it based on my asset load. Definitely giving us some breathing room and time for polish.

This is awesome to hear Marc! I really appreciate it.
I only found out about this 7 days ago. Was super worried haha. Thanks again!

Yeah, what about deadline? Is it really October now, or we all just having group hallucination?
