Hi everyone, I'm Yaz =)
I'm trying to become the best concept artist I could be, and this is the first step for me to getting where I want to be.

Objectives with this course: - Get good at understanding environment values/perspective
- Learn basic 3D
- Anatomy studies (Hands, feet, poses)
- Get better at choosing color palettes/ace that cinematic feel
- Get more confident in my lines

2020 has been an incredibly hard year for me with very little art done, so I want this to be my strong comeback. Would love to get to know all the artists around here and grow together with you guys =)

Yaz

So here are my last 2 assignments. I've done these 2 weeks ago, and sadly didn't have much time to continue onto gesture drawing. I'm doing that now and will try to make a habit of taking these classes every morning. Your feedback is much appreciated!

Hiya, welcome to Art School . For the proportion exercise the upper half of the body seems correct but the bottom half still need works (especially the female's one), they are too thin. The feet should be around half the length of the box. You can compare it to Marc's to spot your errors. (Love the faces tho). For the cylinders skeleton exercise, I feel like there should be more in-perspective cylinders. (Especially on first-row-fifth). You are doing great! I'm looking forward to improve with you

Hey, thanks! Yeah I've noticed I do tend to make the legs thinner, I'll be practicing this more till I get the proportions right, thanks for the helpful feedback!

First practices of the anatomy and gesture drawings. My anatomy isn't looking exactly as the picture, proportion wise, I think I need more practice (definitely) to train my eyes to spot key things in determining correct proportions.

Gesture drawings seem to be a struggle for me, I believe mostly because I'm not that confident in my lines. Feedback appreciated

Wow Yaz! Welcome to the group. You clearly have a lot of skills already. Knowing that your line confidence is something that you want to improve is half the battle. The other half is beating up the CTRL Z button! It will feel bad at first because the gestures won't look as good, and you will be slower. But it will pay off in the long run. Keep it up! Your gesture drawings for 30 secs and 1 minute are very impressive.

Thank you so much for your kinds words! It means a lot, I hope I'm on the right track! I've come up with the term G.A.P to motivate myself (Gesture drawings, Anatomy drawings, Proportions grid) & promised myself that I will do all these 3 exercises everyday for 1 month. I'll post an update regarding that when I finish them, trying to build that confidence step by step

12 days later

I finally finished perspective class. The room took so much mental energy from me to do, since i don't think I've done something this scale before. I'm very proud of it though. Still practicing gesture and anatomy drawing but not a daily.

Very nice work this turned out really well! We must have a lot of gardeners in the forums! This room is really fantastic and the story is great as well. Keep it up!

Thank you! I'm exploring this post-apocalyptic/sci-fi world where there are toxic plants going around, might do more soon!

Studied some street perspective for 10 min before starting Visual Communications 2 today!

Got to the second assignment of perspective class ( 2 vp). This is an alleyway I imagined that is in the middle of celebrating a holy holiday.

This turned out amazing! Congrats @yazziixx!

If you don't mind the feedback, tho, the line in the foreground is stealing some of the attention of the buildings in the background. You could either blurry the line a bit and move it up a bit more so you the most of the frame is still about the builtins across the street
