Greetings, my name is Julian Mayers. I am a recent Game Art student grad from Drexel University looking to build a decent portfolio to get into freelance work. From here I will be posting any and all works in progress that I have in hopes of receiving your valuable feedback. WIP for an illustration involving a character of my Dragon race (gotta think of a name for her).
I plan for this to be back lit, perhaps a vertical cave installation she could be flying up.
I am working with values now and I have more or less established the background (still needs work). Light sources have been established and I need to go in one more time to flesh out where the lights will hit (like on the face). I want to get into colors now to ensure the composition works and adjust the contrast a bit.
Through gradient mapping I established the colors, issues regarding visibility of the character are now more or less resolved.
Character rendering more or less complete, and a few subtle lighting adjustments.
Concept for a Necromancer character. I'm trying to get comfortable with drawing armor.

Preliminary concept for a Void/Cosmic Witch character
Not quite sure where I'm going with this one but the idea was to make a character with some sort of symbiotic link with a void demon.
Got the majority of the colors down by using gradient maps. Now moving onto finer details and perhaps throwing in a background.
Quick creature concept for a low tier void demon.

Redrew an earlier concept, hopefully I can get a full fledged OC out of this. Just need a good name is all...
Quick thumbnails of redesigns for the creature concept I posted a while back. I wasn't too satisfied or confident in the design so I'm scrapping it.
