For the submission, you'll only be able to have your final illustration and one concept sheet appear on the Artwar main page. However, you are free to post any additional elements you want to show inside your topic alongside your final submissions.

Hii, quick question, for my final illustration i want to incorporate transparency so my file needs to be png,it will be less than 1mb, someone knows if it is allowed ? or should i do it in jpg but with the backgound in the cubebursh web blue?

Hello, the instructions for the concept sheet advise to show important sketches and to squeeze everything onto this one sheet. Do we need to cram all of the concept sketch material onto the one concept sheet? My character is practically complete except for some details remaining, but I'm concerned about making everything fit. I would be highly embarrassed if my concept sheet exploded due to so much material and caused any viewers monitors to receive collateral damage from it, not to mention temporary blindness and emotional anguish. I won't be held liable.

@fanowll yup, that's allowed. If by chance the site resizes your image, that means it's too big and needs smaller file size, otherwise it's all good.

@drkwyr Your concept sheet has to include the front and back of your final design. Everything else is up to you to decide whether it's important enough to be on the sheet or not. So if you have too many sketches to fit, you don't have to include all of them. Use the space to present your work in the best way possible

In the meantime, you can continue posting into your topics and finishing your work as normal. The extended deadline is Monday March 29th.

In my submission the character has blue cross-shaped earrings, I wanted to implement the Finnish flag somehow and the flag is just blue cross on white base. In the flag its sideways but I have the crosses upright on the illustration.

Would they be concidered religious symbols altho they're not intended as such?

@juuhannas Hi! We looked it over and right now it really looks just like a Christian cross - a religious symbol. However, it will be up to the judges' decision whether they will disqualify your submission for that or not.

Personally, I would suggest you incorporate the whole flag in the earrings, or at least make the cross horizontal to avoid the obvious implications.

Honestly not sure if the file sizes have to be below or above 1mb. Given how many entries I see that have illustrations well above 1mb, but most concept sheets seem to be below 1mb, given the smaller format. Hopefully I don't get DQ for this x.x

The illustration just needs to be 2048x2048 or bigger. If it exceeds 1mb no problem at all. Its natural that it would.
For the concept sheet, as long as it it 2048x2048 with JPG 10 Quality you are good to go.

it's written >1mb in the guideline, which means "superior to 1mb", <1mb would mean less than 1mb.
I think it would have helped just write "superior" instead of using the ">" symbol, as a few people tried to compress their images to be lower than 1mb which is impossible at 10 quality.
