League for aspiring pros, hobbyists and students
Amateur League
Why leagues?
We have 2 different leagues on the Cubebrush forums to help artists compete with others in a similar demographic. The main idea is to have amateurs (hobbyists/students/up & coming) compete with other amateurs to keep it as fair as possible. We're very aware this does not necessarily mean anything when it comes to skills, but generally speaking non-professionals won't have accumulated as many hours of practice.
Just like with sports, you wouldn't have teams of pros vs amateurs and expect it to be fair!
What exactly makes an amateur?
What makes an amateur artist? You're an amateur if you don't make a living doing art - that's it. If your main source of income is through your art whether it be running your own business, working freelance or in a studio, this league is not for you.
Weekly Challenges (2D/3D)
- The subject of each week's challenge will be given in the first post of the topic
- Begins every Monday and ends on the following Sunday 11h59 PST
- Post only one entry per week/topic, no multiple iterations. Keep those in the WIPs section
- Post your entry in the topic for that week, do not create a separate topic
Bi-Monthly Competitions (2D/3D)
- Normally begins every 1st of the month and ends on the 25th 11h59 PST
of the following month
- Entries will be judged by industry professionals and the results will
be posted a few days after the deadline
- Start a new separate topic for your entry in your league using this
format:
Competition Name | 2D or 3D | Username (example: Gold Champions | 3D | marc)
- Entries will need a minimum of 3-4 WIPs images to be accepted, share your process! Entries where all the WIPs and final images are posted at the same time will not be considered
- Prizes will be announced in each competition's brief
