Here's some more gesture practice; I'm switching it up and trying to focus more on overall shapes and lines and I think it's making a HUGE difference!
I tried a quick go at drawing a gryphon from imagination, needless to say, the results leave a lot to be desired. Wonky proportions, stiff pose, etc. Interesting exercise, though I gotta admit, my animal anatomy could use some work.
Did a rough self-portrait. I'll admit, I'm not too skilled when it comes to shading when it comes using pencil (It doesn't help that mine had some weird red goo stuck to the tip) Not to mention the eyes look a little uncanny. It was a nice exercise at least. Any advice and/or critiques are welcome as always
You can try using knife to sharpen pencil to make the drawing part longer and shade with side (it doesn't work for me as I always break it) or just fully sharpened pencil also sideways. Make strokes close to each other, you can blend it later with tissues (your hands won't get messy and it will be smoother). you can make construction lines lighter so it is easier to erase/cover.
Thanks for the tips! I'll keep them in mind!
Today I started my Daily Clothed Figure Drawing Assignment 1 and one of the three environment drawings. I'll admit, I think some of the anatomy and lighting on my clothed figure leaves a lot to be desired, though I did like playing with color on the env. copy. What do you think?
Here's some 2m gesture practice, tried a more relaxed grip and allowed my arm to flow. What do y'all think?
Here are more clothing exercises! I'd love to hear some feedback on these!
Study ones look good. On t-shirt I would put more folds it looks like different material than you have on reference
Good job!
Nice studies! I like how you captured the light on the top hat guyยดs shoes. Maybe some of the shadows on him could be bigger and more grouped together - like on that Jojo character. I hope that makes sense But I think you did well. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the feedback! I'll be sure to keep it in mind!
Did some more clothing exercises w/ Female anatomy. I'll admit these were a bit rushed; I had trouble with the lighting on the jeans in the first pic.
Here's my muscle trace assignment! I had a bit of trouble following the back muscles, so they turned out rather wonky. I'll have to keep practicing for sure.
Today, I've drawn a Gryphon Bust, Another muscle trace, and the Complete clothed figure assignment one. As always, any and all feedback is greatly appreciated!
More muscle drawings; even tried my hand at tracing some art, but couldn't find any major mistakes (except maybe the Serratus Anterior? [Turquoise])
Practiced Muscle tracing with Female Figure and another art piece. Had a little bit of difficulty around the chest area on the female, but I was able to correct the abs on the Snake dude!
Hey andy! good work on these exercises! Do you mind if I give you a little feedback? I notice that your lines look very wobbly and scratchy.
I would recommend that you give yourself a little time of your day to do daily exercices to work on line confidence. I used to do the ones from the Draw a box challenge and they helped me a lot!

And also this video from Proko could help you understand a bit more
Thanks for the tips! I'll be sure to get some practice in this next week!
Also, one last muscle practice. Struggled a bit with the volumes for this one; will have to work on that.
Been doing quite a few line practice exercises these past two days. Even tried carrying it over to my gesture drawings with mixed results.
