Hey andy! good work on these exercises! Do you mind if I give you a little feedback? I notice that your lines look very wobbly and scratchy.
I would recommend that you give yourself a little time of your day to do daily exercices to work on line confidence. I used to do the ones from the Draw a box challenge and they helped me a lot!
check this out! https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/3/markmakinghttps://drawabox.com/lesson/1/4
And also this video from Proko could help you understand a bit more
Thanks for the tips! I'll be sure to get some practice in this next week!
Also, one last muscle practice. Struggled a bit with the volumes for this one; will have to work on that.
Been doing quite a few line practice exercises these past two days. Even tried carrying it over to my gesture drawings with mixed results.
Some more quick Line, gesture, and clothing practice as usual
Got a Muscle Trace, a Negative Space Drawing, (https://youtu.be/CXnrHguWslU?t=210), and a clothed Character Copy. The pecs could be a little more pronounced on the Skeleton and my observation skills could use work, but I'm glad to be improving my line quality/confidence!
More Negative Space and muscle practice
Back on 5m gestures w/ cast shadow practice. I don't know what it is about me and gesture drawings I guess it doesn't click for me
A couple more gestures and a flat-color study. Tried experimenting with the GSL method (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRb-XHg9g24&t=0s) already looking a lot better
And here we have some quick upper body studies. These came out a bit rushed; did them right before bed.
More Upper-Bod studies; this time w/ the Female Anatomy
Some more Upper Body and shading Practice. Glad I was able to get some solid practice in tonight, I've been so busy these past couple of weeks obtaining my driver's license that my schedule got quite a bit off track!
More upper-bod practice; it was quite fun experimenting with more blocky shapes (though it turned out rather stiff) and muscley figures!
Some muscle & hand practice from this week. Gonna be honest, wasn't feeling too motivated this week; had some difficulty determining how the forearm muscles should twist.
Some lower body and environment studies! I took some inspiration from Kaz_0's studies to examine the framing, lighting, and color! It could use improvement, but it was a nice change of pace!
More practice from this week
Good stuff, keep at it!
I think mrs invincibleโs pelvis cube is off, it looks to me its tilted with the front facing side looking higher up.
I see you are a fan of terror trains XD I always found them kind of uncanny
Cheers!
Thanks for the feedback! I'll be sure to keep an eye on the pelvis positions! As for the 'terror trains', (lol) I'll admit it can be a bit uncanny at times, but I've always found the model work and storytelling quite compelling
Some loose practice today; a little rough I admit, the Character copy turned out rather scrawny and I forgot to add a separate layer for the muscle trace, but it was nice to loosen up a bit
Some more character copies & muscle trace practice; I tried selecting colors as close as possible without directly color-picking them. I think some of the proportions might be a wee bit off (like Miko's Legs) but otherwise results are satisfactory.
