Hello everybody, Happy New Year! 
When I read about the competition two weeks ago, I was genuinely excited! I couldn't wait to put all my energy into this War of Art 
And I started brainstorming right away, sketching ideas. But the topic is quite a challenging one. No matter which genre I picked, the 'anything goes' aspect of the topic was making me very indecisive. In my opinion, both genres have the potential to be great. So it took a me a while to pick a side. And I chose fantasy.
The word "Champion" makes me think of the characters/heroes in MOBA games like DOTA2 and LOL. Players have to destroy the opposing team's base and defend the players' own base from them. So I thought maybe I could approach this competition like the gameplay of a MOBA game.
My idea is to have The Guardian defending the fantasy realm from the invading forces of Sci-Fi. The Guardian saves the realm from the devastating attack and this makes him a hero of heroes. A Champion.
This is my progress so far. The designs are super messy at the moment; nothing is final yet. I'm still exploring different possibilities for the character design and composition. I will show and talk more about the character in the next update.
