Final Illustration WIP

Some rough pre-visualization sketches again. I have great doubt creating work like this with huge amount of details. @@ Now with the direction all set. It's time to get into serious rendering process...

Concept art for The Guardian's weapon, The Bow & The Lance-Arrow, the source of inspiration and idea sketches. It is a magic bow without arrows, the magic thumb ring is required to fire a shots of magic lance-arrow.
It is a weapon with devastating power. And is heavy. Not the weapon of choice for an ordinary archer.
To make the bow looks heavy and stands out from the character, a bow with two big horns end came to my mind. The bow has to look powerful. So I look up some reference started sketching and then rendered the final look of the bow.

Character Sheet WIP
Scale & rough details.

More design development to the 'horse', added saddle, changed the face, toned down the saturation of the body, added zebra strip for it, and made it looks more muscular. I was trying make the beast look complex enough without stealing the focus from the guardian in the illustration.

Painted more details on the guardian. He needs a rim light to stands out more, so i changed the sun light to the left. Since the light direction has changed, I have to make this side the earth darker. And by doing that, it pushed him to front even more... And I also changed the formation of the invader's ship/missiles, decided to give it some perspective to have the depth of field and that also filled up the 'empty space' in my composition earlier. Added more debris as well. More busy, more chaotic, more war-like.

Final Illustration WIP4
Gathered more reference for the view of earth from space with the sun from a certain angle, all of them are screencap-ed from youtube videos. They have been a huge help. Decided to go for warm feel to create contrast with the guardian's horse.

Final Illustration WIP5
I wanted to show some movement for the character, maybe add some debris would do the job? Like when the horse passed through... they got pushed away...

Time to paint the incoming torpedo-like missile and sort of finalize the design, I have to be really careful of the details, they could easily steal the attention from the guardian. Well... It's more busy now! (thx to the debris) and I think the guardian stands out better with the brighter earth

This part is mainly about the composition of the debris and the incoming torpedo. Rearranging them so that the focus point would be on the guardian and not losing movement in the picture.
