I changed my mind a few times during the challenge, and eventually went from a fantasy idea to a more scifi ish idea, also a good excuse to draw super robot and use flashy colors.
I really hope you enjoy it, i sure did enjoy working on it.

Heroes need some bad guys, and Wars have a context, in the universe i started building up to help me in this challenge, i wanted a broken fantasy universe where a set of 7 titans, incarnation of sins, would be unleashed on the earth, accompanied of an army of minions and all the good stuff

They are classically named after the 7 deadly sins, and i want to feature at least one of them in the final illustration depicting the hero or heroine (didn't decide yet) they are so massive that they'll probably end up being far in the distance or an actual part of the environment.

This is a first set of doodles with the 7 titans

Everyone have fun and good luck for this challenge, can't wait what people will come up with ^^

These are really cool. I like the silhouettes of these characters. I would say that Greed, Pride and Lust give off this godly feeling. Gluttony and Fury feel like weird aliens or crazy science experiments gone wrong. Lastly, Warth is the badass demon creature you don't want to miss with. This is the feeling I get with seeing each character. Basically, each of them can affect the theme of the story your going for.
Again, they are all still really cool. Can't wait to see more.

Really cool idea i like it,
I just hope lust looks more feminine if you are even going the human resemblance route.

ok not trying to start a fight or anything (sorry for being offtopic @MoonYeah) but lust is already clearly feminine in these sketches; it would be hard to make her more feminine because she is pretty much a vagina (silhouette wise) with an hourglass waist and feminine face. I'm curious about what you think needs to be more feminine?

These all look great, fwiw. I think you could push wrath and greed a bit more compared to the other designs, but sloth and gluttony are incredible. The other three are also super solid, can't wait to see how you develop this idea further.

@Malcom thanks a lot man, the sketched names are not very clear so it's no "Fury" but "Envy"
For now i've a preference for Pride Greed Lust and Wrath, cause i started writing down a bit of script on those and their powers, i'm glad you see them as godly or demonic creatures, cause that's what i was going for.

For others like Sloth and Gluttony, i really wanted them to have this "grotesque" appearance as there powers needed to be really twisted ideas, more on that later

@3dc I'm not sure i'll go for a "pretty" looking creature for lust, she's not supposed to be nice to look at, in opposition to pride for example, cause her nature give off this high pressure in every area, her appearance, power, grace and all, will make any warrior kneel before her.

I'm no christian, but if i were to really go further in depicting incarnations of the deadly sins, i wouldn't go for anything that looks "nice", to me those need to be the depiction of what the punishment looks like, Lust is a clear reference to sexual desire and practices, but, it still needs to be SFW, so i'm not going to go super far with that, if i felt 100% free to go crazy with those designs, i would probably go for a H.R Giger influenced look, with dicks and all hidden in the design, here i decided to stay soft ^^ But there is still a bit of influence in it, their bodies will be part organic, part synthetic, they could be armored or made of unknown materials etc...

@bagelhero so basically i think you got the idea XD Lust clearly features feminine elements, i could even be called sexist because of this design, but if i decide to use that one i'll probably implement male silhouettes too, but i don't want them to look too human though.

For greed and Wrath i agree, for greed i'm still not sure but for Wrath i wanna implement something that shows one of his power is linked to volcanoes or thunder, because in old culture volcanoes eruptions or thunder roaring were always considered some godly "anger"

Thanks for your feedback everyone ^^

this is very cool , my favourite is greed , pride and envy
i would say tho that greed looks a bit more like sin 'pride' as its massive and hovering with his chest out and more of a godly feel , but its just my opinion
also i really love idea of gluttony how its the only one whose roots going below ground , and is there any symbolism behind tree on gluttony's head , something like its feeding off of natural resources?

precisely, i imagined like a tree that would feed on the life force of earth, rendering the surroundings sterile, and not providing any fruit or seed, just a tree that grows exponentially, a bit like the giant mushroom in the USA that just goes on for kilometers and nothing grows where it is.

Here are a few roughs where i'm exploring possible heroes, i'm not decided yet, but i'll need to commit to a direction soon... honestly i'd like to do the whole thing, the titans, a team of heroes etc XD maybe later ^^

A bit of lore : (please forgive my bad writing, english is not my birth language, and i'm no writer XD)

ARK - Power = Link
A synthetic being created with arcanic powers, his "mind" is made out from the million lives of the people of Kali (mayan inspired nation) before their civilization disappeared.
He's got the power to link his mind to any metal, and shape it to his will (build walls, swords, armors, traps, dummies that he can control up to a certain number and distance) his energy power source is powered by the sun, and he can use it to shoot energy beams, create heat, electric shock etc...
The two hovering cristals that follow him everywhere works like sentries, they use laser to "form" objects like a printer or they can attack.

Tashik - Power = great stamina and bruteforce + Hesh-Ekem Spear
A tribal warrior from the high plateau of Thaok, after reaching the age of 13 moons, Tashik was named "Akal" or basically the best warrior of the tribe, thus he was given "Hesh-Ekem" (shooting star), a Spear that hits at the speed of light, it can pierce through any armor. The problem is that it doesn't come back (like Thor mjolnir) so throwing it is only a last resort.
Although during melee combat each hit is so fast that it's impossible to dodge, only the people from Thaok have bodies strong enough to sustain such acceleration.

Osgord - Power = Mass + Gaea BattleAxe
Chief of the Borros mines, Osgord has never liked the other nations, "I'd rather die than join em in battle" he said, but when "Gluttony" started driling through the mountains and consumed its people and home, Osgord swore to the flaming mountain, that he would do anything in his power to punish this wicked spirit, the mountain answered back and forged a battle axe for him, forged from the deepest magma, it is said that it can cut through mountains, but people like to exaggerate things, right?

Osgord's power "Mass" gives him the ability to change the mass of any object, he can give an apple the mass of a boulder, or make his own body lighter or heavier, this will later give him the stupid idea of being thrown in the skies and then turn his own mass to a critical point, in order to turn himself into a freaking meteor...

Gaea battleaxe is made of the strongest metal in the world.
For some reason, it will sometimes reach a temperature of thousands of degrees, osgord has no control on this phenomenon, that's why he keeps calling the axe by its name, he says that "she" is a bit hot tempered

Mireva - Power = Rule
For decades, the inquisition has been killing off every sorcerers all over the continent, but in these dark days, we even hear priests saying "that witch, i'm glad we didn't catch that one..."

The humans... they were the only ones to think that their walls would make any difference, but "Pride" appeared in the skies of Hallard just like the sun pierce through the clouds, its magnificent light turning every stone into sand, every men into ashes, with her sight alone.

Mireva was the only one standing proudly in front of that mighty opponnent, smiling...

Mireva has the power of controlling the forces of nature, well, she break the rules of this world, she can invert gravity, bend light, make water solid and hundreds of degrees at the same time, she brings thunder without rain, makes fire cold, etc...

1 month later

been totally burried under obligations and job related stuffs, there is only a bit more than 1 day to complete that thing.

It's a challenge in the challenge, but i accept it XD

Here is what this big guy looks like for now, i'm going for a japanese mecha feel, cause i love em ^^
And also cause that gives me some idea for the illustration compo.

Hope to make it to the deadline

Sooo, i think i'm done, i could push it even more, but i'm having a really hard time keeping my eyes opened now...

I prefered making sure the two files were ok, and that i could submit.

I hope you guys like it, not sure i deserve a high spot, but i sure had a lot of fun with this one, i just feel guilty i didn't manage my time properly, this illustration deserve some love

Cheers, and of course good luck to you all who've participate !!
