Finalizing the design for her character. Really want her to emote like a real person. Her personality is joyful/sarcastic, based her emotes off of Amy Poehler's character on Parks and Rec.

For her physical design, I made her more bottom heavy reinforcing a more grounded nature both physically and emotionally. Also her theme is ink/drool/and weird liquid stuff like that so the "droopy" nature of that should be reinforced in her design. Her hair I changed to a more free-flowing cut rather than the long hair from the first pass also to reinforce the freespirited nature of her character.

Next update I'll have the props and pattern design, as well as working on some color/texture passes on her. Going to move on to the illustration comps after that this week. Thanks for viewing!

Ofu's brush options

Some color comps for her design. Leaning toward Brush 2 and Design A right now, but not sure yet, might wait until the final illustration color comps before deciding, or if anyone has any input!

Here's some of the illustration compositions I tried. ended up picking one that was a mix of a few.

It was hard to come up with a comp that lets me illustrate her using her powers. Her brush and liquid is used to seal and purify evil powers so I needed to show that in effect. Definitely the most challenging aspect of the design as of now.

color comps on some lighting ideas and color schemes

1st step in the final illustration: Blocking! Chose a more hazy lighting scheme and going to use a limited palette with this one, starting blocking out the shapes here, values are fked right now cause I'm planning on fogging out stuff after. Going for some trippy blue grass to keep my pallet clean/limited. next step is doing a primary light pass and AO along with some local color detailing in the enviro. Gonna render this one like a 3d render.

Added the overcast lighting and the local rendering, main light source is gonna come from her ink, so going to do that next along with some rendering for the next step, then after that a lot of effects painting. almost there! Any feedback welcome.

@j_zv thanks, I've been trying to upload every milestone during the process to document the workflow, so hopefully there's some insight there.

Took a day out of the illustration to make the front and back view for the design sheet. Still making progress on the Illustration, will update soon.

Update, a lot of effects painting, there's still some rendering and more effects to go, but should be finished with the next update. My graphics card blew up this week, but good thing my mobo onboard graphics still works.

Done! Been a long process, learned quite a few things while working on this project, thanks for all the comments!
