Hey Guys,

Sorry for being a Ninja for this Contest. I decided to take a shot modeling a creature this
time, I had in mind a wise Beetle Lord of the Grub race. Past week and half I've been trying different approaches to my idea. Not sure if I was going to join the competition but I'm feeling confident in my latest sketches.

I will post all of my early sketches to catch everyone up to my process. Hopefully you can get a good since of how my model evolves through my brain storming. Please comment!

Reference Sheet:

First Sketch: To Predictable

Second Sketch: Tried a different body type, pose is less wise

Third Sketch: Dailed back but explored different shapes, face too goofy....looks like a dog wants a bone.

Fourth Sketch: I took shapes from sketch 2 and 3 and really pushed the shapes and made the posture more straight. Overall I like this proportions. I plan on pushing this idea even more.

Fantastic exploration of shapes! I love the silhouette of the 4th version but the weight and veracity of the second one. Maybe a combination of the two could make it a bit more realistic (if the setting is a similar gravity than Earth).

deandres3d: Thanks man I really appreciate it! I agree with but I tried several other sketches with those proportions and it was dud. I like what I have now, I tried to keep some of the similar silhouette though.

Here's another update! I added several things to show off Lord Grub authority or ranking compared to his other minions. Still need to add few more asymmetry changes to his hard shell. Bugs are usually symmetrical but I think few moves here and there will be good for the eye. Hopefully I can finish the model by the end of this weekend, there's several things I need to add and change.

Finally done with the model for now. I could add more detail but I think it would end up being a waste without seeing the model textured. Can't wait to get this guy in Substance and bring him to life!

Kend : It was a kinda challenging to find something that I was visually interested in. I almost gave up since I'm busy with other things but I glad I didn't. Hopefully I can see this through the finish line. I hope you finish your entry too, it's looking rad!

Hey guys I'm back, I finished the low. Here's my first texture pass. The major issue i need to fix is my material separation. I plan on doing several more passes, just going to keep at it until I get it the way I envisioned. Oh by the way I still have armor pieces to add to the low.

texture pass 2, I still have to add all the skulls and rings . I can't wait until this shit is over....I need a break lol
