Hey there everyone. I am entering this contest with Vigilante Cyborg Ninja, which I believe will bring peace to art community once again by ending this war...
I am choosing Sci Fi topic for this contest. While I was brainstorming and surfing the Internet for all kinds of inspiration I came up with this cyborg ninja idea and even a short story of who this character could be and even his background. I like making these kind of things up, because it makes it more artistic and gives a greater sense of what type of figure I'm sculpting and how to create it. This may come in handy when deciding about characters appearance, style etc. So my champions background would look like this... A ninja assassin, who was raised and trained all his life to kill. His guardians and only family has been a secret ninja clan. They secretly trained and control their ninjas for centuries. They used them to do their "dirty" work for them. However, the ninja, who is my champion, doesn't want to be part of it anymore. After seeing that all his life he was forced to cause pain and suffering for the innocent, he decides to abandon the clan and finally start walking the right path in his life. Unfortunately, the clan could not be left, unless you die, so the traitor must be killed. As the clan attempts to assassinate its former member, the champion is brutally tortured and left alone to bleed to death. Barely alive, he was accidentally found by a scientist, who saved his life. Champions body was to broken to heal, so the scientist replaced some of his body parts with robotics, making him cyborg - half human, half robot. This caused champion's physical features to improve dramatically, making him stronger than ever. While he was recovering, scientist took care not only of his body, but soul as well. He served as a mentor, by teaching cyborg to know the difference between good and evil, and introducing him to the way of Samurai. Cyborg looked through life differently. He swore to live his life with honor as Samurai did. He is also going to fix his mistakes, by helping who needs help, bring justice and saving lives instead of taking them.
I found video games being a great source of inspiration. I looked at some of my favourite and some of the most popular Sci Fi games to found ideas for my sculpt. Here is a sheet with some of the inspirations for this project:
Unfortunately I am quite busy lately, but I am hoping I will find enough time to create the champion. I will try to upload as much progress and as soon as possible.
