my druid has had to sacrifice a lot to protect her forest and earth from the creatures who want to tear it down, slowly she becomes part of the earth to gain more power

My idea is that a fairy had to sacrifice herself for the earth so that all the other creatures who lived in the forest may live. So she is getting sucked slowly into the earth and absorbing its power but she loses the ability to fly and be “free”

A bit of backstory:
Kaia used to be a fairy and her family in the forest was under attack buy the elements, she gave everything she could and forest creatures started dying because she wasn’t powerful enough.
Then the earth offered her its power in exchange for her to become part of the earth.
Pose A works better for the trapped / consumed by the earth backstory. B seems a lot more of a carefree pose. Depends how happy she is meant to me about her mystical pact really.

I continued the drawings just so I know the direction,I’m not sure which one I like more. But i finally see where it’s headed which is nice I hope to continue this at a faster past at this point.

I still love the second one more but I don't know if the baby phoenix isn't too much an emblem of the fire element. And making peace with the enemy could be a bit of a gamble maybe ?

I think you’re completely right about the phenix-if I would’ve continued with that one I would’ve made it into an earth creature, I love the second one for the earth character but I decided I want to do lightning.would love to know what you think 😊
I'd say follow your heart ! If you want to make her a lightning character that's perfectly fine ! 
The compo is very well suited for a lightning character. You surely would need to clean the skin a bit but the storm of colours is a part of the ambient real storm so I'd say you are in a very nice path !
