Hey!! I totally missed your topic until now, I had no idea you were here this year too! And with some amazing work already!! Keep up the great stuff like this!

8 days later

Between work and trying to have a social life I haven't spent as much time on this as I would have liked over the past week. Luckily for me I have no plans over the weekend so I'm going to get a lot done! :relaxed:

Wonderful! Amazing progress! I love the lighting!

I'm not sure yet, but I definitely like that idea. Right now it's kind of more glassy, but after I put in the reflection from her legs I'll throw some water ripples in to see how it looks.

I really like it! My only worry is that I think in the prompt it has to be an illustration attacking or defending? I would hate to see you disqualified for that. Kind of feels like she is just floating there showing off more or less.

I hadn't noticed that.
I'll have to give it some thought then.

The easiest way would be to add corpses/monsters/nemesis whatever electrified by her lightnings from each side ? (why not one under the sea :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: with lots of lights going everywhere in the sea/lake)
But you certainly have to enlarge the canvas for this.

That's probably not the best approach, not sure...
Anyways I'm sure you could find how to deal with this.

Good luck with the time menegment ;D She is already looking very cool) I know that there is a lot of original designs in a contest, but this is my fav

Making room for some extra crispy corpses. :+1:

Thanks for the suggestion @mr_dessin

Oh oh, now not only Illium will be a model, but she's also gonna deadly :eyes:
I'm really looking forward to see the final illustration !

I'm trying to think about the bodies. Should they be dead soldiers, zombie creatures, monsters, or something else?

I'd really like some feedback on this. It's crunch time and I still have work in the mornings! :scream:

I would suggest some monsters, like you said it's rush time and with monsters you can get away with proportions issues and stuff like this unlike if you try to make something humanoid
I hope this help! Good luck! You can do this!!

Hey, great work so far! Let me share some ideas with you, you are free to ignore them, but i think there is a room for improvement.
- I think the ambient, front light is too bright, the character would look better if illuminated only or mostly by the thunders from the sides.
- The background spike-like element is distracting a bit, I believe the simple starry night background would be enough.
- As an air hero, she should be flying in the ari, not walking on the ground

Whatever you choose could be perfect.
But don't go with something to hard/long to detail (like skeletons for instance - but in a way if you choose to explode some bones...maybe it could be easier ?).

Agreed with what @rgdraw and partially with @MarcinKulesza said.

@rgdraw Thanks for the confidence. I tried some big ugly monsters, but they seemed to take up too much space and made everything a bit crowded, so humanoid it is!

@MarcinKulesza originally the front lighting was weaker, but I didn't like how the skin looked with only the lights from the side, so I decided to lighten the whole character.
After I add the dead bodies in the background I'll take out the Structure to see how it looks.

@mr_dessin I didn't go with skeletons, but probably something just as terrible. There's several charred crispy human bodies. :confounded:
I'll try to have a wip up before I go to bed tonight.

Oh! Wow! Glad you didn't listen to me it looks so cool this way! Great work!
(Did you draw them all or do you have a 3D program that helps make this faster? o: If so I'm curious because that would help me a lot)
