These are the refs I'm using for my character the idea is creating a Demon that could exist in the Japanese Folklore

Hey Guys! So I have an update before that, as I mentioned I want to create a demon that could exist in the Japanese Folklore, and the idea is this demon protects the catfish, by protecting I mean this demon basically kills the fishermen when fishing those catfish .
Here it is what I did when I got home after my job It's not much but it's something

This is the process basically, I had to put the background in a lighter shade because it was messing the values for me xD and yeah 4 arms I was thinking about the upper arms represents the agressive side of the Demon and the others represents the calm/discipline, to control the water of the Katana ( yeah I'm thinking that this Demon could use a Katana when attaking )

And I'm quite unsure what to do with it's clothes xD that's why the last one is different from the first xD

Hello here's another update! And sorry for not answering @dreamsequenz I saw your comment just now I had a similar idea, intead of the clothes I did the hair always waving/floating I will do the mask tomorrow

DAMN!! I have to be faster!! working after job at night it's not that much time to work on this character and the artwork itself! I have to work on this like crazy on the weekend!

So this past weekend was really stressfull!! I had to go to the hospital because my mom wasn't very well, and she still isn't tbh, I'm really worried with her.... So because of that I didn't do much.
But I won't give up! Here's what I did:

I did the demons mask and tattoos, I know, I know it's kinda messy but I don't have much time so I have to do things more simpler to give the general idea to the final illustration.

Here is also the katana that the demon will use:

Aaaannnnd...It's 3am here and I have to sleep!

It Doesn´t even look in the eyes of its prays,
Hundreds or even thousands of fisherman
Have lost their lives by the katana of that monster.
Its blade can cut every single thing that touches even pure steel,
Its skin soaked wet and pale remembers
A dead corpse washed to shore after weeks since death.
Its eyes glows like the moon reflected on the river,
Those eyes sure are beautiful and that is why should not look at them!"

Hi everyone! sorry for not posting much of the artwork itself. Between my mother's health problems, my job working hours and my personaI lif, I just didn't had the time,I had sleepless nights working on this artwork nonstop! But hey I said I didn't want to give up and I didn't!! I'm pretty happy about how it came out and I hope you like it too! Good luck to everyone!

I will take the oportunity to explaine a bit about the idea of the artwork since I didn't had the time to post updates and the ideas that came out during the production of this piece.
So as I said some posts ago that I wanted to create a demon that could exist in the Japanese Folklore and yeah the idea is a demon that protected the catfish by killing the fishermen and destroying their boats.

I did a little research about the fishermen that would go fishing catfish at night and found a lot of images like these ones. So I tried to do my best to combine the existing fishermen apparently named "Ukai" to my own idea.
I wanted the scene to have a night mood and I thought it would be cool to have a little of contrast with warm colors, so I the Kagaribi, the bonfire used to illuminate the cormorants fishing like it is written in the 1st image.
I also wanted to incorporate the cormorants, and I thought about them having their ropes cutted by the demon and flying to escape of the destruction made by the demon like I think it would happen in reallity.

And finally I wanted to show a little detail, the front of the boat sinking because of the wrath of the demon.
Sorry for the long post, I just wanted to explain the idea behing this piece again, Good Luck everyone!!!
